CHUCHO's Story Est. DOB 05/03/2015 Weight 35lbs Adoption Fee: $259 Chucho is an energetic older gentleman with lots of love to give to his humans. Though older, he still has plenty of pep in his step and enjoys daily walks, exploring the yard, and keeping an eye on the local wildlife (squirrels and birds beware!). He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and is both crate trained and housebroken. Chucho is loyal and protective, so he does best in an adult-only home and should be kenneled when visitors come by to help him feel secure. His ideal home includes a big backyard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some squirrel patrol. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a playful spirit and mature charm, Chucho may be your perfect match! Story
Gypsy had always been a good dog. At four years old, the little Min Pin mix had mastered the art of curling into the perfect lap-sized ball, greeting strangers with a wagging tail, and following her person from room to room like a tiny shadow. She didn’t ask for much—just a soft blanket, a few treats, and someone to love. But life can change quickly. One hot afternoon, Gypsy found herself sitting quietly in a kennel at the Fresno shelter. The noises were loud—barking dogs, clanging doors, unfamiliar voices. Her owner had knelt beside her before leaving, tears in their eyes, whispering over and over, “I’m so sorry, baby. I just can’t keep you anymore.” Gypsy didn’t understand why her world had changed. She only knew she missed the familiar smell of home and the gentle hand that used to scratch behind her ears every night. Days passed, and while other dogs barked for attention, Gypsy stayed sweet and patient. She greeted every volunteer with hopeful eyes and tiny tail wags. Soon, the shelter staff noticed how special she was. “She’s such a sweetheart,” they said. “Someone is going to fall in love with her.” And someone did. A rescue group came to the shelter and saw Gypsy sitting quietly in the corner of her kennel, her ears perked and her tail thumping softly. They scooped her up into warm arms and promised her she was safe now. For the first time in weeks, Gypsy relaxed. Now she waits in foster care, sleeping on cozy blankets and showing everyone just how loving she can be. She still believes in people. She still lights up when someone calls her name. And somewhere out there, her forever family is waiting—someone who will see past her sad beginning and into the gentle heart of a little dog named Gypsy. Until then, Gypsy keeps hoping. After all, every rescue dog deserves a happy ending.

Name: Frijol (aka Bean)Sex: MaleAge: 2.5 years oldBreed: Mini Pinscher / Chihuahua MixSize: MediumColor: Brown & WhiteWeight: 24.2 lbsNeutered: Yes | Vaccinated: Yes | Dewormed: Yes | 4DX: Negative Personality:Frijol, lovingly called Bean, is one of the sweetest, most gentle souls you’ll ever meet. He has a calm, easygoing nature and carries a quiet kindness that makes him truly special. Nothing seems to ruffle him—he’s just happy to be safe and loved. Bean does wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and is great with children, always taking a submissive, peaceful approach. He enjoys car rides and being close to his people. While he’s still building confidence on a leash, he’s learning and improving every day. About:Frijol’s story is one of resilience. He was rescued after a call came in requesting euthanasia for a dog believed to be “dying.” When help arrived, it was clear that Frijol wasn’t dying—he had simply been neglected and severely undernourished. Instead of giving up on him, he was brought to safety and given the care he deserved. When he first arrived, all he wanted was food—and more food. With proper care, love, and nutrition, Frijol has made a full recovery and is now a healthy, happy boy. He’s ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home that will cherish him the way he’s always deserved. Adoption Fee $600 Patiently waiting in Mexico until a family commits to a 10-day trial www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2733856##

Story
Jack is such a sweet and sensitive lil guy! At home, he loves cuddling or napping nearby, with short bursts of play - big on squeaky toys, tug, and jumping onto cozy spots. Jack can come on long summer hikes, but he prefers to stay near home in the winter. In Seattle, he's a regular café/bar dog and settles quietly on a mat for some time.As a rescued stray, Jack does best in a quiet, stable home with a predictable routine. Loud sounds startle him, so he's not a fit for homes with babies or very young kids. Older kids/teens are great. He's fearful of unfamiliar dogs but warms up to well-matched smaller or calmer dogs.Important: Jack has separation anxiety and is not currently left alone. He's on anti-anxiety medication and receptive to desensitization training. We can share his ongoing plan. Healthy, house-trained, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, knows basic commands.Ideal home: calm multi-adult household with consistent companionship, cozy spots, and lots of love <3
