Name: Frijol (aka Bean)Sex: MaleAge: 2.5 years oldBreed: Mini Pinscher / Chihuahua MixSize: MediumColor: Brown & WhiteWeight: 24.2 lbsNeutered: Yes | Vaccinated: Yes | Dewormed: Yes | 4DX: Negative Personality:Frijol, lovingly called Bean, is one of the sweetest, most gentle souls you’ll ever meet. He has a calm, easygoing nature and carries a quiet kindness that makes him truly special. Nothing seems to ruffle him—he’s just happy to be safe and loved. Bean does wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and is great with children, always taking a submissive, peaceful approach. He enjoys car rides and being close to his people. While he’s still building confidence on a leash, he’s learning and improving every day. About:Frijol’s story is one of resilience. He was rescued after a call came in requesting euthanasia for a dog believed to be “dying.” When help arrived, it was clear that Frijol wasn’t dying—he had simply been neglected and severely undernourished. Instead of giving up on him, he was brought to safety and given the care he deserved. When he first arrived, all he wanted was food—and more food. With proper care, love, and nutrition, Frijol has made a full recovery and is now a healthy, happy boy. He’s ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home that will cherish him the way he’s always deserved. Story
Saphira was only eleven months old, a tiny Min Pin mix with bright eyes and a heart that refused to dim, even when life got rough. The veterinarians believed she had been hit by a car, and for a while, her future felt uncertain. But Saphira wasn't the kind of pup who gave up. She was the kind who fought her way back to joy. Her foster mom became her safe place - the one who carried her gently, whispered encouragement, and made sure she got every bit of care she needed. Today, she took Saphira in for more X'rays, wanting to be absolutely sure her little fighter was healing the way she deserved. And the news was everything they hoped for. Saphira is cleared, healthy, and ready - ready for walks, ready for cuddles, ready for a family who will love her for the rest of her life. She still has that spark, that wiggle, that 'I made it' glow that only rescue dogs seem to carry. She's playful, sweet, and endlessly grateful for every soft bed, every kind hand, every new beginning. Now all she needs is someone who sees her the way her foster mom does - as a survivor, a sweetheart, and a once'in'a'lifetime companion. Saphira's next chapter is waiting. She just needs her person to turn the page.

Story
Jack is such a sweet and sensitive lil guy! At home, he loves cuddling or napping nearby, with short bursts of play - big on squeaky toys, tug, and jumping onto cozy spots. Jack can come on long summer hikes, but he prefers to stay near home in the winter. In Seattle, he's a regular café/bar dog and settles quietly on a mat for some time.As a rescued stray, Jack does best in a quiet, stable home with a predictable routine. Loud sounds startle him, so he's not a fit for homes with babies or very young kids. Older kids/teens are great. He's fearful of unfamiliar dogs but warms up to well-matched smaller or calmer dogs.Important: Jack has separation anxiety and is not currently left alone. He's on anti-anxiety medication and receptive to desensitization training. We can share his ongoing plan. Healthy, house-trained, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, knows basic commands.Ideal home: calm multi-adult household with consistent companionship, cozy spots, and lots of love <3

Story
Hi, I am Nacu! My name means to howl, and trust me I live up to it in the cutest way. I am a happy, playful, obedient little guy who loves being around other dogs. Playing chase, going after the ball, and having a good chew session are my absolute favorites. I was rescued with my siblings after we were abandoned, and even though I was the smallest, I have grown into the confident leader of the pack.I am smart and eager to please. I already know how to sit, stay, come, and fetch. I would thrive in a home with other dogs, a yard to run in, and an active person who enjoys exercise and fun. I'm balanced, calm, and very affectionate, and I really enjoy being part of a family. You can see more photos and details about me on my personal web page here: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/nacu-2025081DIf you are looking for a loyal, joyful companion who brings both sweetness and spirit, I might be your perfect match. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. Story
Name: Hazel - CALGARY!!! Age: 1 year Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Miniature Pinscher mix Color: Black / Brown Weight: 3.6 kg Height (shoulder): 23 cm   Rescue Story   Hazel was rescued from a severe animal hoarding situation where dozens of dogs were found living together in poor conditions. All of the dogs were taken to a city shelter, and Hazel was fortunately rescued before her situation became worse. She is now safe and slowly learning what life with people can be like.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Hazel can be a little shy at first, but when someone calls her she will approach and happily settle into their arms. Because she grew up in a hoarding environment, she tends to be more cautious about new environments than people. In unfamiliar places, she often looks to humans for reassurance and comfort.   She has not met children under 13 yet, but we do not expect major issues. She can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, and once she becomes comfortable with someone she will even roll over to show her belly.   Socialization with Other Dogs   Since Hazel grew up with many dogs, she is used to living with them and often seeks comfort from the dogs she grew up with. They tend to sleep together in a little group, although she hasn’t shown a lot of playful interaction yet.   She may feel uncomfortable around larger dogs but is generally friendly with dogs of a similar or smaller size. If another dog challenges her, she prefers to avoid conflict and will simply move away.   With Cats   Her reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but a test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hazel has a low energy level and enjoys spending most of her time resting calmly.   Walks   She has not had much experience outside yet. When something unfamiliar appears, she may tremble out of fear. However, once she forms a strong bond with her person, she tends to follow them closely, which may make walks easier as her confidence grows.   Additional Notes   Hazel does not guard food from either people or other dogs. She currently does not show severe separation anxiety, but because of her hoarding background and strong bonds with the dogs she lived with, some initial adjustment may occur when separated from them.   She rarely barks, although she may bark along if other dogs start barking. She stays calm when placed in a kennel and is currently pad trained. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram!
