Story
If you’re looking for a puppy who will make you smile every single day, Chia might just be your girl. This adorable little sweetheart is full of curiosity, playfulness, and puppy charm. With her bright eyes, wiggly tail, and lovable personality, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with her the moment you meet her. Chia is the perfect mix of sweet and playful. She loves exploring the world around her like a tiny adventurer, sniffing every corner and discovering all the fun things life has to offer. Everything is exciting when you’re a puppy, and Chia approaches life with that wonderful puppy curiosity that makes every day feel like a new adventure. Watch her YouTube video now!! https://youtu.be/hjS2on19Qn0?si=FQ0p8rsKJgKqcAO4 Playtime is one of Chia’s favorite parts of the day. She plays in the cutest way possible, bouncing around with toys, pouncing like a tiny little fox, and happily entertaining herself or anyone nearby who wants to join in on the fun. Watching her play is guaranteed to brighten your day—she has that joyful puppy energy that makes everything feel a little happier. And if there’s one thing Chia absolutely loves, it’s treats. The moment she hears a treat bag crinkle, her attention is locked in and her tail starts wagging with excitement. Treat time might be her favorite time, and it’s also a great opportunity for bonding and training. With how much she loves snacks, she’ll likely be a quick learner when it comes to learning new things. Chia also has a very sweet and affectionate side. After she’s had a good play session and burned off some of that puppy energy, she enjoys being close to her people and soaking up love and attention. She has such a gentle, loving presence that makes her a wonderful little companion. Because Chia is still a young puppy, she is just at the beginning of learning about the world. She will need a family who understands that puppies require patience, guidance, and commitment as they grow. Things like house training, learning manners, and basic training are all part of raising a puppy—but those moments are also part of the special journey of watching them grow into an amazing lifelong companion. The family who adopts Chia will get to experience all the wonderful stages of puppyhood—her silly playtime, her sweet cuddly moments, the excitement when she learns something new, and the incredible bond that forms between a dog and their people. Chia is ready to find a loving home where she can continue growing, playing, learning, and being the adorable little puppy she is. In return, she promises a lifetime of loyalty, love, laughter, and plenty of happy tail wags. If you’re ready for a sweet, playful puppy who will bring endless joy to your life, Chia might be the perfect addition to your family. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69b19628f30bbcfeaf03b5c4 Questions? Story
Adopt Pika   • Age: 1 year • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Miniature Pinscher Mix • Color: Brown • Weight: 3.3 kg • Height (shoulder): 24 cm   Rescue Story Pika was rescued from an animal hoarding situation where dozens of dogs were found living together. He was brought to a municipal shelter before being rescued and given the chance to start a new life.   Despite his difficult start, Pika has a gentle and affectionate personality and is learning to trust people more each day.   Personality with People Pika can be a little shy when meeting new people at first. However, with a few treats and a little patience, he warms up quickly and can usually relax within a day.   Once he feels comfortable, he becomes very affectionate. He loves attention, will run over when called, and enjoys cuddling. He can be picked up comfortably and will even roll over to show his belly when he trusts you.   With Other Dogs Pika is friendly and social with other dogs. He often approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   He can feel slightly unsure around very large dogs, but he doesn’t panic — instead he cleverly avoids them and continues playing. He tends to prefer dogs closer to his own size.   He currently stays with another rescued dog, Hazel, and they play together often and even sleep curled up next to each other.   With Cats Pika has not lived with cats before, but a cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level Low to medium energy. He enjoys outdoor activity but is also calm and relaxed indoors once he has had some exercise.   Walking Pika has not had much experience with walks yet. However, because he follows people well and enjoys human companionship, we believe he will learn quickly once he bonds with his adopter.   Additional Notes Pika does not guard food from people or other dogs.   He is currently using pee pads indoors. Since he was rescued from a hoarding environment, it is possible he may experience some separation anxiety if left completely alone at first. With time, patience, and routine, he should continue gaining confidence.   He is calm in a crate, although he may bark if another dog approaches while he is inside. Interestingly, once the crate door opens and he meets the dog face-to-face, he becomes relaxed and friendly.   Pika is a small dog with a big heart who is ready to leave his past behind and start a loving new chapter with his forever family. Story
Name: Hazel Age: 1 year Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Miniature Pinscher mix Color: Black / Brown Weight: 3.6 kg Height (shoulder): 23 cm   Rescue Story   Hazel was rescued from a severe animal hoarding situation where dozens of dogs were found living together in poor conditions. All of the dogs were taken to a city shelter, and Hazel was fortunately rescued before her situation became worse. She is now safe and slowly learning what life with people can be like.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Hazel can be a little shy at first, but when someone calls her she will approach and happily settle into their arms. Because she grew up in a hoarding environment, she tends to be more cautious about new environments than people. In unfamiliar places, she often looks to humans for reassurance and comfort.   She has not met children under 13 yet, but we do not expect major issues. She can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, and once she becomes comfortable with someone she will even roll over to show her belly.   Socialization with Other Dogs   Since Hazel grew up with many dogs, she is used to living with them and often seeks comfort from the dogs she grew up with. They tend to sleep together in a little group, although she hasn’t shown a lot of playful interaction yet.   She may feel uncomfortable around larger dogs but is generally friendly with dogs of a similar or smaller size. If another dog challenges her, she prefers to avoid conflict and will simply move away.   With Cats   Her reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but a test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hazel has a low energy level and enjoys spending most of her time resting calmly.   Walks   She has not had much experience outside yet. When something unfamiliar appears, she may tremble out of fear. However, once she forms a strong bond with her person, she tends to follow them closely, which may make walks easier as her confidence grows.   Additional Notes   Hazel does not guard food from either people or other dogs. She currently does not show severe separation anxiety, but because of her hoarding background and strong bonds with the dogs she lived with, some initial adjustment may occur when separated from them.   She rarely barks, although she may bark along if other dogs start barking. She stays calm when placed in a kennel and is currently pad trained. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! Story
Zoey is 5 years old. She was adopted early November from my local Humane Society. A month after her adoption she had complications & was diagnosed with Mega-esophagus. No underlying condition has been found. We have been taking care of her very diligently but decided we can’t handle the emotional & financial stress of her condition. Zoey needs a home with an adopter who has experience caring for dogs with special needs, preferably Mega-E dogs specifically and is ready to take on the responsibility of her. She needs a calm, gentle environment. She is on a prescription diet & two medications right now. She does not have a bailey chair. She is a bit under-weight but we have been trying to help her regain it. Zoey is a very sweet, playful, intelligent, and needy dog with a lot of love to give once she has gotten comfortable. She picks a favorite person and sticks with them. Zoeys very nervous, jumpy, vocal, and has bad separation anxiety. Somewhat kennel trained, and a very good girl.

Story
Meet Lover Boy!   This spirited guy is definitely a lover; a lover of some serious play-time! Currently, that is the only thing he is serious about! Lover Boy is definitely an “all play and no work” kind of puppy, and is happiest when he is horsing-around with his friends. Small dogs, big dogs, toys, – he doesn’t discriminate when it comes to having fun. As long as he’s able to be a goofy boy, everything is groovy. The only other thing he may love almost as much are high quality belly rubs, and treats.   BONUS: Lover Boy is both potty and crate trained! Great With: Other dogs and kids!Ideal Home: Lover Boy would do best with an energetic family or individual, (potentially with another canine-companion!), that look forward to play-time, and are willing to provide additional training, enrichment, and endless belly rubs so he can grow into the best version of himself! If you’re looking for a silly, playful, and loving companion, Lover Boy is your guy!   What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.  Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.  Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.  Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.   ##2640364##
