Story

Panda is a sweet 3 yr old Mini Poodle that was found as a stray on 01/03/26 and ended up at Clayton County Animal Services. No one came to claim him. He is heartworm positive but has already started his treatment. He is neutered, current on vaccines including Rabies, and is microchipped. He was a marker when we first got him since he wasn't neutered but he has gotten better. He sometimes wears a diaper to insure he doesn't mark. We are hoping this will get better but no guarantee. It can sometimes take 90 days or longer once neutered to not mark. He was neutered on 01/12/2026. He loves other dogs to play with and loves people. He needs some training to not jump up on you because he is so happy to see you. He loves daily walks. ##2634027##

Bijou is a sweet little Poodle mix. He is about 2-3 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He was found dumped on the side of the road in a crate with another dog who has since been adopted. Bijou was matted and terrified when he arrived at Tiny Paws. It’s been a long road but he has made excellent progress and come such a long way in his foster home, but is still quite shy when meeting new people. Bijou is sweet and affectionate to his foster mom. He is so excited to see her that he gets the “tippy tappies” and that has become his nickname. He loves his foster siblings and we are requiring another confident dog in the home that can help show him the ropes! LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT HOME: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 10 lbs. Hi there, I’m Ellis! I had a home for a few years, but due to a family health challenge, I came back to Mostly Mutts to find a new family. I was adopted again briefly, but it turned out not to be a good fit. I’ve recently gone into a foster home, so there will be more information about me soon. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and was interested in them, though not ready to play, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet. My former owner reported that I liked the dogs I met while I was with them. / My former owner reported that I wasn’t fond of kitty cats. / I haven’t met kids at Mostly Mutts, but I have previously snapped over guarding food/treats, and when being touched around my neck/collar, so much older kids (teens and up) that will understand this about me will be best and of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The shelter environment was very stressful for me, so I felt overwhelmed, especially around men who make me very uncomfortable. I need someone who will move calmly, take their time, and not push me before I’m ready - but once I feel safe, I’m a sweet, affectionate, smart, and fun little dog who enjoys cuddling and being close to my people. I can be a great office companion and settle in nicely nearby. I do need continued desensitization around my neck/collar, as I may growl and I have made contact when being leashed as well as shown some guarding of food/treats, so I’ll need an experienced, patient owner to continue positive training. I can bark a good bit and am sensitive to activity. I wouldn’t do well in an apartment or condo and would prefer a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going. I’m currently a flight risk, so please use caution around doors. With understanding, structure, and love, I have so much to give. / My energy level is currently 4-6, though it may increase the more comfortable I become in my new home. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My former family reported that I know ‘sit’,‘stay’, and ‘leave it’ and I’m sure you can teach me even more. Mostly Mutts will be happy to offer guidance with the above-mentioned behavioral challenges and since they offer free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, let’s continue training together. / I wasn’t crated in my former home, though I did alright in my little room at Mostly Mutts. / My former owner reported that I was potty trained. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love fetching squeaky toys and being close to my people once I’m comfortable and feel at home. A work-from-home or stay-at-home family member would be wonderful as I do love being with my family! I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things to enjoy doing together. / I do not want to be carried as that makes me uncomfortable. As mentioned above, I don’t like being touched around my neck/collar or anyone around my food/treats. As with all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have crystals in my urine, so I’m eating Hill’s science diet c/d to help – just ask about this. I was born with a significant heart condition that is expected to shorten my time here to around 3 to 4 years, but I’m determined to fill every single day with love, cuddles, and joy as I believe in living life to the fullest. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along very well with the dogs in my foster home. I would likely enjoy another dog to play with in my new home, so if you have a nice doggie who would like a puppy friend, but that would also not overwhelm me, let’s meet! / I met 2 kitties when I was very young, and my regular foster thinks I may be a bit too playful for kitties. / I like the teen kids I’ve met in my foster home and think older kids like this will be best for me due to my heart condition. I didn’t care for some younger kids I met in my foster home, so if you have calm older kids, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a happy-go-lucky pup with a sweet, lovable personality and a playful spirit that shines brightest when I’m around people. I’m not a big cuddler, and at times I’m a loner, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love being near you — I just like to enjoy your company in my own way. I’ve got some puppy energy, but because of my heart condition, I’d like a calmer home where I can play and explore without too much overexcitement. My foster says I have a great personality and an easygoing charm, and I think once you meet me, you’ll see what a special little pup I am. / My energy level in my foster home is quite high at 6-8, though it will likely lower as time goes on. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a pretty bright girl and already know the ‘sit’, ‘outside’ and ‘lie down’ commands. I bet you can teach me even more! / My crate manners are excellent in my foster home. / Potty training is coming along, but due to the medications I’m on, it’s a bit of a challenge for me. I know when I’ve had an accident, but I just can’t always hold it — especially first thing in the morning, when I might need a quick carry outside to avoid leaving a trail. So, know that there will be accidents and let’s work together to make them as few as possible. Because of my frequent need to go out to potty, a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member is needed. • LIKES/DISLIKES: It’s hard to pick just one favorite, because as a happy-go-lucky pup, I love so many things — people, toys to play with and chew on, and soaking up a little sunshine outside with my family! I’m sure we’ll discover even more things we’ll love doing together! / My foster says I get startled by things that are new to me. Kibble in a metal bowl is suspect to me, and I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, light exercise and training. • MEDICAL: I’m current on my annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m on a heart medication called Vetmedin and I’ll need to stay on it for life. My foster does some heart/stomach measurements that are an indicator as to how I’m doing, and these should be done in my new home – just ask about this. I’ll need heart checks at UGA periodically and Mostly Mutts will pay for the one in December 2025 or January 2026. AN ADORABLE FRIEND: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs. & needs to lose weight Hi, my name’s Palmer! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be here getting all the love and good care that I needed (see medical section below). I’m currently in a nice foster home which I’m thankful for as the shelter was stressful for me. I needed bloodwork when I arrived and thankfully that expense was covered by a generous grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization! Now I’m ready and hopeful to find my furever home very soon. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I spent the Thanksgiving holiday in a great foster home and got along just fine with the older dog who lived there. We just sniffed each other and went about our business. If you have a nice doggy at home that isn’t looking for a playmate, let’s meet! / I was curious about the kitty in my temporary foster home, but they were not interested in me, so we co-existed together well. All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a super sweet guy with a fairly laid back and chill personality. The volunteers also say that I was happy to be with them, cuddly and adorable, and that I’ll bring lots of joy to my new family. I am curious and well-behaved in my foster home, happily showing off my friendly demeanor. My foster reported that I’m one of the easiest fosters they’ve ever had – woohoo! They say I can be independent at first and enjoy some time to myself, but I’ll also hang with you on the couch once we are good pals. Additionally, I do not bark much, but when I do, my bark is quite loud and may be heard by the neighbors. / My energy level is 4-6 (a little lower in my foster home). • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am familiar with the ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, and ‘stay’ commands in my foster home, and I also walk nicely on a leash and utilize proper door etiquette. I look forward to learning even more! Check back soon to see what I have mastered. / I’ve had good crate manners, but honestly, I haven’t really needed one in my foster home. At nighttime, I sleep on the floor of the living room or in my foster’s bedroom. / My potty habits have been good in my foster home, where I notify my foster when I need to go outside. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I have a great sniffer and love to explore my surroundings with my nose, so let’s go on some ‘discovery walks’ together. Not only will it be fun, but it will also help me drop a few pounds, which I need to do to reach my healthy weight. The good news is I enjoy going for my daily walks and will even start running sometimes! After that, I love long naps, and I accept cuddles that come from my people! / I can’t think of any dislikes, other than being at the shelter and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on my annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’ve just had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again! I’m on the green bean diet to help me lose some weight and I take an over-the-counter joint supplement which is good for all older dogs. The shelter was a bit stressful for me, so I’m taking an anxiety medication that I think I’ll be able to wean off once I’m settled in my new home. I had a large lipoma/fatty mass on my neck, and it has been removed and my fur is growing back now. I also have a grade 2 heart murmur that doesn't need medication at this time. It’s possible that I may have slightly decreased hearing due to my age. I am looking for a great family to give me a loving, furever home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. Meet Murray Mills , a 10-pound gentleman with a heart as big as his fluffy curls! At 11 years young, this sweet poodle mix is the perfect blend of calm cuddler and occasional goofball — he loves to snuggle but will happily prance around the yard when the mood strikes. Murray enjoys his neighborhood walks and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and pure joy — men, women, and small dogs alike. A happy boy, Murray also gets adorable spurts of energy and when he does his smile melts hearts. He’s fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and thrives on companionship, so he’d love a home where someone is around most of the time to keep him company.
