Meet Gucci – The Comeback Kid with Curls and a Story

If Gucci looks familiar, that’s because he’s one of our very own alumni. Originally rescued from a shelter euthanasia list after reportedly nipping a child, Gucci was given a second chance—one we still firmly believe he deserves. After testing fine with children during his time with us, we carefully placed him with an older couple. Unfortunately, after 7 months, he was returned once again for a nip, this time after his adopter tried to clean his eyes during an allergy flare-up.
When he came back to us, Gucci was on high doses of Trazodone and clearly not in a good mental place. But within 24 hours- off medication and back in a safe, familiar environment- his happy, playful spirit returned.
What to know about Gucci: • He’s a friendly, cheerful guy once he trusts you • He can be sensitive to handling, especially around his face • He’s developed some resource guarding habits around food and his crate—manageable for someone with dog experience • Since his return, he’s shown no signs of aggression to anyone in our care, including kids • He’s smart, resilient, and full of personality
Gucci needs: • An experienced, adult-only home (no young kids) • Someone who understands body language and will respect his boundaries • A structured, low-stress environment • In-state placement only - we’re committed to keeping him close so he always has a safety net
We know Gucci isn’t for everyone but we also know he is absolutely everything to the right person. He’s not a broken dog. He’s a dog who’s been misunderstood, shuffled around, and still comes back with a tail wag and a smile.

You will be contacted by adoption coordinator if they have questions or you are approved to adopt.***If you choose to adopt (before all vetting is complete) and use your own vet rather than our local Snip Clinic for these services, you do so at your own expense and it will not reduce the adoption fee. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE.
1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen.
2.) You will be notified by adoption coordinator if your application is approved. Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation.
3.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up.
4.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply- we are too busy for window shoppers! Every dog is available to be taken home with you at the time of the meet and greet.
5.) We recommend you bring a carrier with you to transport the dog home as some can get carsick. Adult dogs and most puppies over 6 months of age will require a slip lead.
6.) Adoption fees can be paid with Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal and credit Card.
