Story
Introducing Dot! Dot is a 5 1/2-year-old, 8 lb Mini Poodle who survived life as a puppy mill mama and is now slowly learning how to trust the world around her. She loves to cuddle close and has the sweetest little heart. Time, patience, and gentle attention are exactly what Dot needs to continue building confidence and learning what it means to simply be a beloved dog. After six weeks in foster care, she is finally starting to show true happiness, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch her blossom. Dot is currently about 80% potty trained. She goes outside to pee consistently when taken out 4–5 times a day, though she still occasionally has small accidents and has not yet learned to poop outside. Her foster walks outside with her during potty breaks, which helps her feel safe and comfortable. She does not show much interest in staying outside yet and can still be nervous about unfamiliar sounds and smells. Because Dot strongly dislikes leashes, she will require a securely fenced yard and will most likely never be a “go for walks” type of dog. Her ideal home would be a semi-quiet household with someone patient and understanding who can continue helping her feel safe during outdoor potty time. Dot loves scrambled eggs and chicken and is currently eating a mix of soft and hard dog food. She needs a home filled with kindness, comfort, and gentle encouragement to help her continue her journey toward becoming the cutest little addition to a lucky family. Dot is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Hershey! Hershey is a 5 year old, 9.5-lb Red mini poodle who loves attention and to be close to his people. His superpowers include being so cute, you just want to cuddle with him and love on him. He's so good at putting a smile on your face. He gets along great with other dogs but can sometimes be a little protective of his food. He loves being outside in the grass and playing with toys. Maybe he should have been called Rocket the way he runs around the house curious about everything around him. He wants to be wherever you are and will follow you everywhere. He is still learning to walk on a lease but is showing improvement. In terms of house training, Hershey uses pee pads but still has a way to go to be housebroken. We are optimistic that with time and patience, he will figure it out! He loves treats and goodies and is very food motivated! Some of his favorite things are pieces of chicken and hot dogs (really any kind of food!) and toys that move or roll around. If you're looking for a companion that loves keeping you company, is very playful with a lot of energy, the biggest attention hog, and the cutest ears ever, Hershey might be your perfect match. Hershey is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Barkley! Barkley is a 5 year old, 15-lb mini poodle who loves the outdoors and playing with his foster sibling. His is a very curious little guy who is constantly looking for something or someplace new to explore. He spends as much time as he can soaking up the sun and just chillin on the back deck. We are still working on leash and potty training but he's smart so it's only a matter of time and patience. Barkley's favorite treat is chicken and scrambled eggs. Barkley is still very shy and cautious with people but with time, patience, kindness and love, I believe he will transform into a lovable pet that just wants to be part of a family. Barkley is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.00. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Moe! Moe is a beautiful little white Maltipoo with a gentle spirit and a heart ready to bond with the right family. Born around March 11, 2025, this sweet boy weighs 10.8 pounds, making him the perfect size for lap snuggles and companionship. Moe came from a hoarding situation where he was one of 29 dogs, so the big world can feel a little overwhelming at first. Because of this, he may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once you approach him calmly and give him a few gentle pets, you can almost see the moment he relaxes—then he quickly becomes your loyal little friend. He gets along great with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He will need to go to a home with another companion dog to help him feel comfortable and confident. Moe’s best friend here is Mitchell, and they would love to be adopted together. With a patient and loving family who will give him time to settle in, he will blossom into a devoted and affectionate companion. Moe is still learning some of the basics, including walking on a leash, but with consistency and kindness he will catch on quickly. If you’re looking for a sweet pup who just needs a little patience to shine, Moe may be the perfect match for Adoption Fee: $400 Apply to adopt Moe: www.adoggie4you.org Give this gentle boy the loving home he’s been waiting for! This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, I’m Dawson!  I was picked up with my family by a few good people who found us on the highway. They brought us to rescue, where I have been looking for my forever home.  I’m a friendly, happy boy who loves everyone I meet — dogs included! I get so excited to see my people that sometimes I bounce up to say hello, but it’s only because I’m so excited to be loved. I’ve got a sweet personality, a goofy side, and I’m always ready to make new friends. Even though I get excited, I have a sweet nature and just want to be close to my people. Going into a new home, I will need some minor training on showing me how to be potty trained. I like toys, playing with the other dogs in my run, and meeting new people.  Due to my breed, I will need regular brushing and grooming. My adoption fee is $400. I am neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, 4dx negative and current on proheart 12 and bravecto. I’m currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Unfortunately, I can’t travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts because of state regulations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, I’m Sadie. I came into rescue with a group of dogs, including my two nursing puppies, after our owner was cited by the city for having too many dogs. Life hadn’t been very easy for me — I arrived severely matted and covered in fleas and ticks — but through it all, I never stopped being sweet. Everyone who meets me talks about how calm and gentle I am. I have a mellow personality, enjoy lap time, and get along well with other dogs. I’m a quiet girl who doesn’t bark much, and I seem to already know the basics of potty training. More than anything, I just want a peaceful home where I can finally relax and be loved the way every dog deserves. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. My adoption fee is $400. Due to my breed, I will need regular grooming.  I’m in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee.
