Story
My name is Coy and I am a mini Poodle of 3 1/2 years old. I was surrendered by a breeder. I weigh approximately 12 pounds. I am friendly to other dogs but I am a bit shy with people at first. I need someone who will understand that and give me time to adjust. I need a home with no young children as I am not used to them. I am neutered, current on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped, and I had my teeth cleaned. I am working on potty training right now. My adoption fee is $400. If I am adopted up North, a transport fee of $205 and health certificate fee of $110 is added. If interested, please complete and send your application to sdrapplications22@gmail.com Link to application:SDR_Application_03-17-2016.pdf You can send an APPLICATION FORM  by email at: shereesdogrescue@gmail.com, or by fax at:  469-453-3331.  For more information, please call Linda at 972-658-2487.November 12, 2025, 4:08 pm

Story
Star is looking for a home! This adorable girl is approximately 7 years old and weighs 10 pounds. In November, Star experienced sudden paralysis in her hind legs and was surrendered to the shelter. We stepped in and brought her to our neurologist, who discovered that a herniated disc was causing the paralysis. Star underwent spinal surgery to correct it, and after several weeks of crate rest, she is steadily regaining mobility. We are thrilled her recovery is going well because Star loves to run and play. She is a sweet, spirited young dog who has been friendly with all the dogs and people she's met in our care. She can be vocal when she wants something, whether that's attention, food, or to go outside. Because her injury was caught and corrected early, she won't need extensive physical therapy. Vintage Pet Rescue will cover 5 sessions of PT for Star, as well as a spay surgery at the adopter's vet. Until she is fully recovered, Star should avoid stairs or high places. We would love to find her an adopter with IVDD experience, but that is not a requirement. Star is up-to-date on vaccines and recently had full bloodwork. If you're interested in adopting Star, please submit an application at https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Pistachio the Poodle is looking for a loving home! This adorable older gentleman is 14 years old and 12 pounds. He arrived at VPR with a very infected mouth, but after antibiotics and dental surgery, he's feeling much better. Pistachio loves to be held and will melt into your arms. He's a very sweet boy and gets along well with all the dogs at our rescue. Pistachio is blind, which leads to some vocalization when he needs attention. He enjoys napping in a private pen and may need some guidance finding the door when he's ready to emerge. He's a good eater, loves exploring outside, and looks very cute in his winter sweaters. Pistachio will occasionally mark, but we expect that to lessen now that he's been neutered. He has mature cataracts and a perianal mass, but it doesn’t cause him any issues. He's up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and recently had full blood work. To adopt Pistachio, please submit an application at https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Ranee and her fabulous poodle poof are ready to find a loving home. This sweet girl is around 13 years old and weighs 11 pounds. While she is blind in her right eye, Ranee still has vision in her left eye and gets around well. She enjoys following the other dogs around and happily soaks up any affection that comes her way. Ranee has such a calm, easygoing personality. She rarely, if ever, barks. When visitors arrive, she prefers to watch from the comfort of her bed while the more energetic pups rush over to investigate. She’s just a sweetheart. Medically, Ranee has stage B2 valvular disease that is currently being managed with three heart medications. She will need an echocardiogram every 4–6 months. She also has a small mammary tumor and significant dental disease, but due to her age and overall condition, our vets do not recommend anesthesia for dental surgery at this time. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and recently had full blood work. We would love to find Ranee a loving home where she can be cherished for the rest of her life, however long that may be. If you're interested in adopting Ranee, please submit an application at https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt
