PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Meet Lucas, an amazing little guy (about 20 pounds) who seems to love life and everyone he meets. Pick him up and he will cuddle into neck to give you a hug back. Lucas is housebroken and very well behaved in a crate. He loves walks, playtime and of course cuddles. Lucas is looking for a foster home a few days after Christmas-he arrived heartworm positive from Texas and will be getting heartworm treatment. Needs a foster willing to bring him to our vet in Ellicott City 3 times, once near the end of January and twice near the end of February (will be available for adoption after treatment). Lucas is a young dog with no symptoms and is expected to make a full recovery. Will be available to discuss treatment in more detail with an approved applicant. Adoption Fee is $450. All of our dogs will be microchipped, altered, current on vaccines. We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently venmo, check or cash is preferred payment. (Have a $20 fee for using paypal or credit card)

Story
Sadie is an 8 yo 16 lb. chocolate/liver female mini schnauzer who is still looking for her forever home in PA, DE, MD, VA, or DC. She is a friendly, barky, playful, active dog who loves attention and is a lapdog. Playing with her toys and fetching them is one of her favorite pastimes. She is a big fan of going for walks. She is house-trained and crate trained. She is microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. Sadie was spayed in rescue as well as having bladder stones removed. She will need to be on urinary prescription food the rest of her life to prevent the stones from reoccurring. Sadie would do best in a townhome or single family home with a fenced yard with an adopter who would take her on walks. Children should be age 10 or older. She does not get along with dogs living in the home, so should be an only dog. Sadie's adopter will be required to take her through obedience training. If you would like to be considered to adopt Sadie, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm/Lyme tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications from these areas. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Sadie's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Personality: She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy. • Affinity with -Cats:She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. -Dogs: She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. -Adults/Kids: She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. • Shedding: Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. • Housetrained: She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. • Separation Anxiety: She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. • Bark or Howl: She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl • Carsickness: She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
