I’m looking to rehome my 3 year old dog to someone patient and understanding. She can be very nervous and fearful around people she doesn’t know. When meeting someone new, she will usually bark and may growl because she is unsure of them. It normally takes her a few visits/interactions before she becomes comfortable enough to let someone pet or touch her. She is also very alert and protective of the home. She barks a lot. Because of her personality, she would do best with someone who is patient, willing to give her time to warm up, and understands that she should not be rushed when meeting new people. Once she becomes familiar and comfortable with someone, she is much more accepting.

Meet Delbert!Delbert is getting ready to celebrate his 6th birthday in just a couple of weeks, and we can’t think of a better gift than a forever home of his own!This tiny 4-pound Toy Poodle recently came to Saving Hope Rescue as part of a breeder surrender group. Now neutered and up to date on his vaccines, Delbert is ready to begin a whole new chapter and discover what life as a beloved family pet is all about.Delbert is still learning the ropes, including working hard on his potty training. After spending his life in a breeding environment, he will need a patient, understanding family willing to give him time to adjust, build confidence, and learn that the world can be a wonderful place.He is dog-friendly and would benefit from having another friendly dog in the home to help show him the ropes and make his transition a little easier. He has not been cat-tested.Delbert may be a tiny guy, but he has a whole new world waiting for him! Story
First and foremost, I am ONLY rehoming her due to my health issues. She is the SWEETEST dog EVER. Sophie is a GREAT alert dog, only really barks if somebody is too close to the door. She loves laying on pillows, getting massages and belly rubs. She does High 5 and give hugs. Sophie is 10 years old but life expectancy for a Morkie (half Yorkie and half Maltese= Morkie) is 17 to 25 years. She is in great health, has great teeth, clean, clean ears. Sophie is not house broken but if you have a house with a SECURE back yard and take her out WITH YOU, no worries. I put her in diapers, just cheap baby diapers size 2 in the house, she's fine. Occasionally I glove up and shampoo her bootie. Sophie is wonderful with kids but she is scared of all other animals. She would be best to be the only pet. Serious inquiries only.
