Story
Meet Carly!
Carly got her name after being found under a car, and since then, this sweet little survivor has blossomed in foster care. She’s a Yorkie mix, about 1–2 years old, and weighs around 9 pounds. When she was rescued, she was very underweight, but thanks to lots of love and good meals, she’s now happy, healthy, and at her ideal weight!
Because Carly once had to fend for herself, she’s very food-motivated and still learning what’s appropriate to chew. She’ll do best in a tidy home where personal items like clothes and blankets are kept picked up while she continues building good habits. The great news? She’s young, smart, and making progress every day. She hasn’t shown interest in chewing her dog bed or pillows, which is a wonderful start!
Carly would thrive in a home without small children, as she can be a little too enthusiastic around anything she thinks might be food. She’s best suited for adults or families with older, dog-savvy kids who can help her continue learning.
She’s a lively, playful girl who would love an active family. Walks, backyard ball time, and interactive play are right up her alley. She gets along well with dogs her size or slightly bigger and enjoys having canine companions with a similar energy level.
Carly sleeps great in her crate and even taught herself how to use the doggie door in her foster home — smart cookie! Most of all, she adores attention and bonds closely with her person.
This little 9-pound bundle of resilience is ready for a fresh start with a loving family who will continue guiding her and celebrating her progress
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
