I’m looking to rehome my 3 year old dog to someone patient and understanding. She can be very nervous and fearful around people she doesn’t know. When meeting someone new, she will usually bark and may growl because she is unsure of them. It normally takes her a few visits/interactions before she becomes comfortable enough to let someone pet or touch her. She is also very alert and protective of the home. She barks a lot. Because of her personality, she would do best with someone who is patient, willing to give her time to warm up, and understands that she should not be rushed when meeting new people. Once she becomes familiar and comfortable with someone, she is much more accepting.

Meet Covey – Your Sweet Little Shadow! If you’re looking for a little companion who would love nothing more than to be by your side, Covey may be your guy! This handsome Yorkie mix is a total sweetheart with a wonderful little demeanor and a whole lot of love to give. Covey is crate trained and sleeps peacefully in his crate all night. He’s also doing very well with going outside and has used puppy pads, too. He does have a tendency to mark, so his new family will need to give him some patience and a loving, gentle hand as he continues his potty training after he’s neutered. One of Covey’s favorite things is going for walks! The moment he knows he’s heading outside, he gets VERY excited. He loves being out and about and would happily join his person for daily walks and adventures. Around the house, Covey is an easygoing little guy. He gets along well with his foster’s dog and cat and doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs. He would likely be happiest in a quiet home with adults who are looking for a devoted little companion to love and spoil. Covey absolutely loves being with his person and will happily follow you around the house—he’s basically your adorable little shadow! He does have some separation anxiety and may bark when you first leave, but after a few minutes he settles down. And despite being a Yorkie mix, he’s not a yappy little guy—his barking is mainly related to being left alone. Covey is a good eater, sleeps through the night, and is just an all-around sweetheart.
