Story
Hi I'm Rocky! My brother Oscar and sister Missy are also here at the Ark with me. I'm the 'big brother' of the three of us and we're lucky that we have each other to play with, and we sure do love to play! But the truth is, we really all want our own home and family to grow up with. I'm shy at first because I wasn't around people much when I was little, but once I get to know you, I'm a big playful wanna-be lap dog! I just need a little time to warm up before I get my playful gear in motion. I love to spend time with the volunteers, and go for walks and play and I love meeting and playing with other dogs too! I was really lucky and got spend a couple of weekends at one of the Ark volunteers home, and got to show off how well behaved I am and that I'm even housebroken already! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Cur mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! And if you don't know what a Cur is - you sure have been missing out, good thing you found me because we're awesome dogs!! Check this out (from Google): Are cur dogs good family pets? Cur: Dog Breed Characteristics & Care Their energy, intelligence, and tenacity make them loyal workers and companions, while their desire to bond with humans makes them great family dogs. **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Hi I'm Missy! I'm the only girl in my litter, and that means I'm the sweetest one of the group! My brothers Oscar and Rocky are also here at the Ark with me. Story
Meet Atlas. While his DNA is very rich in dog breeds (18 actually), his appearance is quite unique, with two breeds as the main standouts. His face and ear structure look mostly Pitbull, but his "glass eyes", height, thick body (about 65 lbs), and mottled coat are distinct characteristics of his distant Catahoula Leopard dog relatives. Atlas loves a good cuddle and is the best hugger. Although he can be a little stand-offish around strangers at first, he warms up quickly to people of all ages. He does well with children and with other dogs that do not have as dominant of a personality as his own. He loves hikes, exploring, runs/walks, chasing balls and frisbees, playing tug, and chewing on toys. He will dig from boredom if he is left alone outside for long periods of time without sufficient engagement. He knows a few commands but usually prefers to perform for treats. Atlas is an affectionate, active dog that needs an equally loving and active family to meet his emotional and physical needs.   If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Atlas is located in Alabama and available for transport. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Cuddly, friendly, and well-mannered is the best way to describe Brendan! He is a medium-energy guy who can be a little shy at first, but after a couple treats he opens up and won't leave your side!
