Story
Found on the side of the road, Magic has proved to be just that, magic. She's a 3-month-old, 6-pound mix of Mountain Cur and Hound who will mature to around 40 pounds. She really is delightful. She gets along well with other dogs, loves to play and is sweet and loving in every way. Great Girl who will turn your life into MAGIC!!! (posted 1/30/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **February 4, 2026, 4:43 pm

Story
Meet Luca — a little fella with a nub tail, squat legs and possibly the most unusual breed mix ever!  The breed results are in, and we have discovered that Luca’s mom is a Mountain Cur and Pekingese mix!  She was found with Luca and his siblings and weighs about 20 to 25 lbs. Luca’s dad is an almost equal mix of Siberian Husky, Labrador retriever, American pit bull terrier and Norwegian Elkhound!  So what does all that add up to? The most adorable little boy who will be a great size when fully grown, probably around 40 lbs give or take. Luca is currently approaching four months old at the end of February, and he’s already fully potty trained!  Luca and his siblings were found dumped with their mama before a cold spell in January. Sadly, Luca and his brother Levi, who are now in a foster home together, were likely never shown any human affection prior to coming to rescue. They immediately loved the other dogs in their foster home, but they had to learn to trust the humans.  A few weeks later, both boys are total mama’s boys. They’ve gone from hiding in their own puppy pile to napping fully splayed out on their backs and waiting for belly rubs. If there’s an open lap, they run to sit on it. Luca is the more shy one of the two brothers, but he enjoys being held and getting all the belly rubs. He clings tight to the people he knows and loves.  Luca is excellent with other dogs and loves to play, so we would love to find him a forever home with a confident, friendly dog that could set a good example and be a best friend. But we’re open to human-only homes if there are opportunities for him to socialize with other dogs often. Overall, we’re looking for a home with the time to take on a puppy who needs lots of love and attention. The potty training part is done, and Luca is ready for what’s next with his new forever family! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Luna is an 8yr old mountain cur. She's very sweet, smart and calm. She's aggressive towards other dogs but seems to be ok around unaltered male dogs and LOVES cats. Luna is a very quick learner. I'm having to rehome my baby after leaving an abusive relationship I don't have room or time for her anymore. Luna will come with a crate, full bin of blue buffalo food, water and food bowls, and accessories.

Story
Mary Ellen is a 35 lb Cattle Dog/Mountain Cur mix with a heart that’s ready to heal. She’s had a rough start to life and truly needs a confident, experienced dog owner who can help her feel safe and continue building her trust. Once she’s comfortable in her surroundings, Mary Ellen becomes playful, affectionate, and eager to bond. She is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows basic commands—she’s a smart girl who wants to please! Mary Ellen gets along well with other dogs, is good with cats, and would do best with older kids who can respect her boundaries. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and is heartworm negative. She’s ready for the right person to show her what love, stability, and patience really look like.January 13, 2026, 9:38 pm
