Story
Hi I'm Rocky! My brother Oscar and sister Missy are also here at the Ark with me. I'm the 'big brother' of the three of us and we're lucky that we have each other to play with, and we sure do love to play! But the truth is, we really all want our own home and family to grow up with. I'm shy at first because I wasn't around people much when I was little, but once I get to know you, I'm a big playful wanna-be lap dog! I just need a little time to warm up before I get my playful gear in motion. I love to spend time with the volunteers, and go for walks and play and I love meeting and playing with other dogs too! I was really lucky and got spend a couple of weekends at one of the Ark volunteers home, and got to show off how well behaved I am and that I'm even housebroken already! *The Adoption fee for Rocky is reduced/covered by adoption sponsorship donations When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Cur mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! And if you don't know what a Cur is - you sure have been missing out, good thing you found me because we're awesome dogs!! Check this out (from Google): Are cur dogs good family pets? Cur: Dog Breed Characteristics & Care Their energy, intelligence, and tenacity make them loyal workers and companions, while their desire to bond with humans makes them great family dogs. **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs. September 7, 2024, 10:05 am

Story
Lucille is 100% a human person….well, not really. Her DNA test lists her as: 55% Mountain Cur, 23% Australian Shephard, 12% Golden Retriever and 10% Chow Chow. This 2-year-old good girl is very smart and always wants to be by her human’s side. She curls up next to you to watch tv or take a nap - so you will never be alone. Always sweet and loyal, Lucille loves endless belly rubs, cuddles and snuggling. She will push her head into your chest and melt against you. She loves car rides and would make an excellent travel companion. Lucille is a very active dog that loves zoomies, playing fetch with tennis balls, going on walks, and car rides. She is a perfect companion on long road trips or exploring the outdoors. She is a wiggle-butt fanatic when excited (especially for treats). Lucille needs plenty of playtime in a fenced-in yard to burn off energy. She occasionally jumps to say hello and is still learning her manners. She will do best in a home with older children or adults who can handle her energy levels, but she does balance it out as a huge napper! She loves to jump to say hello and maybe too much energy for smaller children. She is terrific with all dogs and 100% door-to-door potty trained (she will go to the door to be let out). Lucille would do best in a home where she gets plenty of attention and love. She will provide a lifetime of tail wags and unconditional love. This sweetheart cannot wait to find her furrever home-could that be yours?

Meet Cole! 🐾 Cole is a 6-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog with a stunning coat and a heart full of love to give. This handsome boy is mature, loyal, and deeply devoted once he forms a bond with you. He’s up to date on all his vaccines and is currently waiting to be altered. Cole enjoys spending time with people he trusts and would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and secure. He can be selective about how he feels toward certain men, so a slow, respectful introduction works best to help him warm up and show his gentle, affectionate side. If you’re looking for a faithful companion who will reward your patience with unconditional love, Cole might be the perfect match for you. Come meet Cole — he’s ready to find the person who will love him just the way he is! 🐶❤️
