Story
Twister has every reason not to trust the world. Instead, she chooses joy. When Twister arrived at a small high-kill shelter, she was pregnant and scared. The stress of the shelter environment caused her to deliver stillborn puppies. After losing her babies, she went through a period of grief that no mother should ever have to experience. But Twister did not stay there. Today she is a happy, healthy girl who has embraced life again and cannot wait to find a family of her own. She is beautiful inside and out. Twister loves going on group walks with the other dogs and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. She is also great with cats, making her an easy addition to many different types of homes. More than anything, Twister wants to be someone's best friend. Whether she is joining the group for an adventure or simply spending time with her people, she wants to be included and connected. Despite everything she has been through, she remains affectionate, social, and optimistic. She has so much love left to give and is ready to leave her past behind her. Good fit: someone looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who enjoys being part of daily life and wants a true best friend. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ Think you might be a good fit? Story
Sweet Shamrock is a cutie who has mastered the art of the puppy dog eyes. She is a 1-year-old mixed breed girl who weighs in at about 35 pounds, the perfect medium size for cuddles on the couch! While not much is known about her past, Shamrock was originally rescued in South Carolina but is ready to start over with a fresh life in the northeast. While her story is still being written, we do know that Shamrock gets along well with other dogs and kids, though her relationship with cats has yet to be tested. As a young pup, Shamrock is still working on all house, leash, and crate training. With a little patience, love, and consistency, she is sure to blossom into a wonderful family companion. Shamrock is looking for a family that is willing to invest in her future and give her the guidance she needs to grow. She is happy to return the favor with plenty of love and loyalty along the way. Shamrock is hoping her luck is about to change. Maybe the pot of gold at the end of her rainbow is a forever home with you!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Shamrock is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.June 18, 2026, 7:35 am

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. *No adoption fee!* 5 year old Lewis was adopted from us as a puppy and now finds himself needing a new home.   *Don’t let the gray face fool you, this boy is only 5 1/2! We also have more pictures and videos, just email us and we'll send them to you.  Lewis is a mixed breed and weighs about 40 pounds. He is a happy go lucky dude who is playful and energetic, but can also calm down quickly. Lewis’s favorite past times are lounging on the couch or in a dog bed with a fluffy blanket, chewing on a dog toy, and playing with his foster siblings (dogs). He is good with other dogs, cats and kids, crate and house trained, but needs a little leash training. If you’re looking for a lovable, happy, semi -playful pup who just wants to cuddle and play with toys, Lewis is your guy. Don’t miss out! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Cookie has a horrible story to tell. She has grown up outside. As she became older, she lived life chained to her dog house. She was bred by a stray male dog while she was on a chain and survived the January snow storm while on a chain. Rescue stepped in to get her spayed and fully vetted. She was boarded at the clinic to recover. During this time, everyone realized how absolutely sweet & smart she is! We would love to find her a forever home. Cookie is just over a year old and weighs 49 lbs. She is house and crate trained and uses a doggy door well. She is great with other dogs and kids. Cats unknown at this time. She was very curious about the clinic cats so may not have been around them before. She is ok on a leash but still learning about that. She is not a resource guarder but can be a counter surfer. She’s not big on toys just yet but loves chew bones! She is shy at first but is learning so many new things and is doing great! Please consider giving Cookie a happy ending to her story. She is so deserving of one. Complete an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FOFC/Dog
