Story
Lucy is a special girl all the way from St. Croix brought here as a baby in search for a better home and new life as part of a program called Paws from Paradise. She was first adopted from Pet Alliance Sanford and she’s been in the care of a relative ever since but is unable to take care of her anymore. She’s a sweet, energetic, and loving girl who just needs to find a perfect home. Loves to cuddle, very affectionate, and you will definitely know you are special in her eyes and she’ll make sure that you understand that!

Story
Nyla is a such a cuddly and goofy dogs. She loves stomach rubs and she leaps at the opportunity for a fun walk. Aside from walks and playing with balls, another one of her favorite things to do is eat.She is house broken and knows some commands like sit, down, paw, wait, and walk. She does well with children and adults!Nyla has had issues with other dogs, and it's best if she does not go to dog parks. It's best Nyla is the only dog/pet in the home to avoid aggression. If you love beautiful, large, and playful dogs, and can afford Nyla a home without any other pets, she will be the perfect fit!She will be kept with her current family until adopted. Story
Luna was adopted during COVID back in June of 2020 from a shelter in Maryland. She just had puppies when we adopted her and believe she was originally a stray. She is around 7 years old. She is a very shy girl when you first meet her. She is nervous and may take some time to warm up to you. She is very treat motivated and loves butt scratches. She knows all sorts of tricks such as sit, down, spin, rollover and paw. She loves her walks and snuggling on the couch and watching tv. She is a very sweet dog once you get to know her.She can be reactive at times when she gets started or feels trapped. We avoid petting her or getting your face too close to her when she is sleeping. She has never actually bitten anyone, but will grow and snap at you so we recommend an experienced adopter. She is also on a specific food (Hill’s Gastrointestinal Biome) due to having diarrhea in the past. This food has really helped and recommend that she remain on it.

Story
Nova is Husky/Terrier Mix. I met Nova when she was 5months old back August 2018 as last runt puppy dog. She is 8 years old and her birthday is 3/24. Nova is shy around other dogs and people at the dog park. Nova loved walk but she does pull leash when she sees other dogs. Nova know sits, down, turn, and paws. Crate trained on command to go into the crate. Eats 1 cup of kibbles twice a day. Recently, there was an incident where when I looked away for a second, my 1 year old daughter ran up to Nova and hugged her very tight and Nova bit my daughter as a defensive bite. Bite was minor but I realized that I won’t be able to prevent this from happening again. Therefore, Nova is not suitable for home with children and toddlers. This is incredibly hard decision for me since she was my sweet and loyal companion for 8 years before I met my wife and now my daughter. I know Nova has so much love to give still and she deserves a home where she can continue to thrive. Thank you, Jay

Story
We adopted Luna from a shelter in Maryland in 2020. We have loved having her as a member of our family and rehabilitated some of her reactive behaviors with a trainer (leash aggression, resource guarding) and she was doing well for a while, but after the birth of our daughter, she has had aggressive behaviors around the baby and other family members (growling, showing teeth, and snapping but no bites), and we would like to re-home her. She is a very sweet and affectionate dog, but we are not aware of her history prior to adopting and she has too many triggers for us to continue to manage along with a new baby. She loves long walks and is very food motivated, and will do well in a child free home that has a backyard or walking trails. She walks well on a leash and is only reactive towards other dogs when in close proximity. We are looking for an adoptive family that will be able to accommodate her behaviors give her the love and affection we wish we could continue to provide.
