Story
Unfortunately when Daisy she was a puppy she was forced into dog fighting, resulting in her reactivity to other dogs (and we believe cats as well). Shes missing a piece of her ear because of it. She was rescued by a family member when she was about a year old. She did not get along with her dogs, and went to ANOTHER family member. When they were then unable to care for her during a move, we agreed to “foster her” for a short period of time until she was able to bring her home. Now almost 5 months later, the family member does not want Daisy back. We have a 3 year old autistic daughter in an apartment (we are not allowed to have her in), and I’m pregnant with my second. It’s difficult to walk her in a complex with other dogs, and it will soon be even more unsafe for me as my pregnancy goes on. She does AMAZING with my daughter, doesn’t tear anything up. She just needs a family to love her, because all she has to give is love. She’s lazy and loyal, and deserves only the best.

She loves chasing her flirt pole, chewing on Benebones, snacking on strawberries and apples, and, most of all, being with her people. She is a total lovebug who wants to be involved in whatever her humans are doing!On walks and in some new environments, Nova can get excited when she sees other dogs and may pull or become vocal. Her reactions can sound big, but she has no history of aggressive behavior and has made wonderful progress with consistency and training. She is dog-friendly, but slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended. She would do best with someone who is willing to continue building on the progress she has already made.Nova would be a wonderful fit for someone looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who can keep up for an adventure but is equally happy curling up on the couch afterward.

ON HOLD - Izzy is currently in a testing period with potential adopters. I will update if it doesn't work out.Izzy is incredibly sweet and playful - she always wants to be around me and get pets. If I were a dog-person, I'd keep her in a heartbeat but I have 2 cats who require significant medical care so I can't. She's surprisingly good with the cats - she wants to play with them but she backs up from 1 look/hiss. I took her to my vet to get checked out where she got her rabies and initial distemper vaccines - her follow up distemper is due on the 18th. The vet guessed she is around 1 year old and confirmed she is not spayed. We didn't see any fleas but I did start her on a flea/tick medicine. If I had to guess her breed it would be a mix of dachshund and golden retriever. I work from home so if you want to come meet her to see if she's a good fit please reach out.

Hestia is looking for her Forever home before she is taken to the shelter this evening. Hi! My name is Hestia, I was originally pulled from the euthanasia list from Mecklenburg County Animal Care 2 years ago, where the had named me Flap jack. I am 3 years old. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I need a new home or foster until I find a furever home. I have until this evening before I am taken to the pound and I am terrified of getting back on the euthanasia list because I have so much love to give. I get along with other dogs, haven’t been around cats much other than feral ones and I just like chasing them. I am fixed, crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. All I need is a family that would give me a chance. I am the most loving baby and love snuggles and kisses. Please give me a chance or at least help me finding a foster until the people helping me can find the perfect home for me. God bless you.
