Story
Rocky is a great dog, we’re just not the right home for him. His owner, my partner’s son, died earlier this year and we’re taking care of him, but it’s clear he needs more than we can give him. He has no boundaries and loves everyone he meets. A little consistent training would likely help with the boundaries. He also needs A LOT of attention, like 8-year old kid run and play kind of attention. Rocky is house and crate trained. He does not like the squirt bottle and will seriously consider his actions if he thinks he’s likely to be squirted. Full disclosure, he has peed on bags/boxes in the floor, but I’m guessing this most likely stems from boredom and his need for attention. Other Rocky facts: He’s 5-6 years old, weighs 60lbs, and is neutered. Drools like crazy when in a car. Walks ok on a leash but can be leash aggressive to other dogs, lots of barking and lunging (mostly I think because he’s excited, just doesn’t necessarily appear that way).

Story
This is such a difficult decision to make, but I can no longer provide the care that my pup Kali needs. She’s a wonderful girl. She’s very mellow, but she has extreme separation anxiety. It has become so bad that she’s destructive when left alone; trying to get out of either the house or the yard to find a human to be with her. I’ve had her on separation anxiety for a couple of months now. It appeared that it was helping in the beginning, but that is no longer the case. She needs to be in a home where someone is with her ALL the time. I realize it’s a long shot, but this is my last resort. The rescue that she came from does not want her back because they dont consider her to be a candidate for adoption any longer. She’s current on shots, spayed, on heartworm prevention. She’s about 7 years old. She’s good with other dogs and children. I don’t know if she’s good with cats. She’s house trained. She really is the sweetest girl. I have exhausted all resources.

Story
Meet Dallas. He is a 7-year-old German Shephard/mutt mix. He is a sweet and very loving boy who has been around Adults, children, cats, ferrets, birds, and crowds with no issues. He is crate and house trained but will mark when stressed. We have had great luck with belly bands though. He is obese at the moment and could absolutely benefit from a home with the time and money to put towards helping him with that. Dallas is being rehomed due to personal medical issues. I am a disabled veteran and over the last 2 years my mental and physical health has been declining and recently lead to me being unable to work at all. As much as I love this boy and hate the idea of him not being here, I know the time and money I need to spend away from the home taking care of myself and my family will leave him neglected of the care he deserves. Dallas is happy to snuggle in one spot all day and he wants to be anywhere you are. Crate and food will be sent to new home as well.

Story
Cecelia came from one of the rural shelters in NC where she was described as an 8-year old heart worm positive senior girl. What they couldn’t tell me was how she is a sweet, loving and energetic Velcro dog who loves nothing more than rolling in the grass and chewing a bully stick. She loves to be outdoors, sniffing around the house and sitting in the sun. Cecelia is great in the car and always up for a ride. And now that she has completed her heart worm treatment, Cecelia is looking forward to walks with her family. Cecelia has completed training to help her learn how to not be reactive to other dogs. Cecelia was identified as needing to be the only dog in the house. I believe she would be best as the only pet in the household as she does seem to be jealous of the resident cats. She would also appreciate a home where she can snuggle on the couch and maybe in a warm bed with her person/people. She was saved from the shelter and we just want her to have her perfect home.

Story
Flex has been part of our family for seven wonderful years, and he truly is one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. His perfect day includes finding a warm patch of sunlight to nap in and curling up beside you on the couch for cozy snuggles. He’s gentle, affectionate, and incredibly loyal. Flex is an anxious guy by nature, and after welcoming a toddler into our home, the busy, unpredictable environment has caused his anxiety to increase. This recently led to an incident with our young child, and with very heavy hearts, we know that rehoming him is the kindest and safest choice for everyone — including Flex. He thrives in a calm, predictable home and does wonderfully with older children (5+) who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs. Flex will be an amazing companion for a family or individual who can offer him a peaceful environment, consistency, and lots of love. Flex has so much love left to give, and we hope to find him a home where he can continue to shine.

Female, Adult
Garner, NC
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Rascal is a 4-1/2 year old spayed female "mixed hound" with personality. She was found abandoned with 5 siblings of about 6-8 weeks old, all were under nourished. She is current on vaccines. She is smart, easily trainable by a skilled trainer (food driven). She likes to talk, loves attention and to boss her sister. She's an exuberant tail wager (helicopter tail!). Recent family/household developments have overwhelmed her owner that likes to spoil her and is unskilled in training. These changes and stresses in the household has created an environment resulting in some behavior change, reactionary stress toward her litter sister. She sleeps well at night in her crate with her blanket and cushion, generally 7pm to 7am.
