Story
This is Sugar, a 7-year-old hound/shepherd mix I adopted from the Pound when she was about a year old. She has been my best friend for years, but with recent life changes and now having a young child, I can no longer give her the life and environment she needs. Sugar is very loving, loyal, and sweet with my wife and me. She has plenty of energy and loves to run, so she’d do best with someone active who can spend time with her. That being said, she does come with some challenges and needs the right fit: She does not take well to men. She’s generally done well with women but has shown protective behavior in our home, including attempting to bite when strangers (men) come in. She lives with two other dogs now, but it took a long adjustment period and she started fights. She was food aggressive at first, so we’ve always fed separately. Ideally, she would thrive as an only dog. She has done ok with our baby so far, but I don’t feel I can fully trust her around young children long-term.

Story
Buster is a good dog that would thrive in a house with outdoor space for him to play and get lots of walks. He will do best in a house without kids as he wants the attention. He is skittish of humans at first but once he is around for a little bit he warms up. We adopted him as a puppy and rehabilitated him. He was found in the wild and has the scares on his ankles to show it (bugs were eating him and his siblings) He isn’t the into biggest cuddling but will let you snuggle for a little, he does love belly rubs though! He loves going to daycare but I think he would do better as the only pet in the house. Someone with experience with dogs would be best. We love Buster, but it is not the best dynamic with a toddler who doesn’t leave him alone and now we have a week old in the mix.

Otis is a gentle giant who loves women! Otis, at no fault of his own, lost his home & family, due to a divorce. He lived with a german shepherd puppy and two young children. He is an active, playful, love bug. Otis would do best in a women only household with a large fenced yard to run & play with another young dog or on his own. Otis is house trained and know many commands. He is neutered, up to date on shots, deworming and flea prevention. Meet Blue – Your Loyal, One-and-Only Companion Blue is a 5-year-old cuddle bug with a playful streak and a heart full of love for people. He’s crate trained (up to 8–9 hours), rings a bell to go outside, and enjoys games like “keep away” and zoomies. He’s gentle with humans and unfazed by strangers—just wants to be near his people. Blue was a COVID-era puppy and likely missed out on early socialization. Though his previous family said he liked other animals, we quickly learned he reacts strongly to all pets. He hasn’t bitten or attacked, but his loud bark and anxious energy mean he must be the only animal in the home. We hoped to train him, but our busy schedules don’t allow the time he deserves. Blue thrives on attention and would do best with someone home often who can give him the love and structure he craves. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate dog who wants to be your one-and-only, Blue could be the perfect match.
