Story
Ranger was adopted as a one-year old puppy and he is now 7 years old and a very sweet pup! He loves to play fetch, eat, get scratches, and snuggle on the couch. He gets along with his 10-year old red heeler sister, but he would be best in a home with no other dogs. He also gets anxious around other house visitors, so he would be best in a home with minimal guest traffic. He is loyal, loves his family, is a great companion and will be your best friend forever if you treat him with kindness and give him a safe, loving home!

Story
Ziton is - we think - 18 months old. He was a stray that we found and he's actually a really good boy, but we recently moved an are unable to have him at this apartment. He is house trained and is very sweet. He is good with other dogs, good with my nieces and nephews and kids. He has had vaccines that we gave to him ourselves (Spectra series) and was dewormed, but has not been to the vet.We are in Denton, TX and want him to go to a good home with kind people that will give him the time and attention that we currently struggle to provide due to our schedules.

Story
Meet Cody! Cody is a 13.2-pound, 3–5-year-old Terrier mix with spectacular ears and a sweet, affectionate side that comes out once he gets to know you. Cody can be a little reserved with new people, so he appreciates introductions that aren’t rushed (and include snacks!). Give him a little time, go at his pace, and you’ll discover a cuddly, snuggly little guy who loves being close to the people he trusts. He’s crate trained and housetrained and is looking for a calm, predictable home with an experienced dog owner who will give him time to settle in and feel secure. Cody would be happiest in an adult-only home. He may do well with a compatible larger dog, and we’re not yet sure how he feels about cats. Cody may not hand out his friendship to everyone on day one, but that’s part of what makes earning it so special. If you’re willing to let him get to know you on his terms, there’s a very sweet little dog waiting to curl up beside you. Cody was found loose so while we would love to say with certainty he's four years old and a Yorkie, the truth is that is our very best guess. THINK CODY MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT?  HERE'S WHAT COMES NEXT: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor, and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2788366##

Story
Levi is such a sweet and energetic dog! He wants to play, run and love on his people! I have been fostering him for my sister since her and Levi’s dad split. They had hoped to workout a way to keep him but sadly have not been able to figure out a way that is best for him. He gets a long with my older dog, four cats and two daughters (11, 4). He has also been around my goats and has done very well! My oldest dog has been teaching him to patrol the yard for danger! I wish we could keep him but he needs a home that can put more love and work with him! He has a drive to learn and will do anything for an ice cube! He knows basic commands and is kennel trained! He would do best in a home with older kids as he does knock my youngest over some. I do also worry about him running full speed into my older dog and one day accidentally injuring him. He has such possibility to make someone an AMAZING family dog!
