Story
Buddy is the sweetest dog I could have ever asked for. I adopted him from a shelter since he was scheduled for euthanasia , and I’ve been in love with him ever since. He absolutely loves people, enjoys cuddling, and has the kindest, most affectionate personality. He’s great with other dogs and always wants to make new friends. Unfortunately, despite all of his wonderful qualities, he doesn’t seem to get along with my cats. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but I want to do what’s best for him and for my cats. I’m looking for a loving home with no cats where Buddy can get all the attention, love, and time he deserves. He would thrive with someone who can give him plenty of affection, companionship, and the happy life he deserves.

Story
Meet Monty! He is an 11 year old mixed dog, who needs a new forever home. We have had him since he was a puppy since having children he and the kids are proving to be incompatible. He is house and kennel trained and low energy. His perfect day is laying around cuddling. We'd like to find him a quiet, child free home to live out his golden years.

Story
I'm moving and cannot take my dog, Brodie. I adopted him 2 years ago from the SPCA in Dallas, and he's around 4 years old now. Brodie is smart and well trained. After getting him, we sent him to do an intensive training course where he lived with his trainer for 4 weeks. He learned all the basic commands, including how to heel while off leash. He's also had two 1-week refresher training sessions while we were on vacation. He's playful and gets along with our cats and other dogs. Brodie comes with all his supplies (crate, toys, dog beds, electronic collar, dishes, food container, and treats). I'm not asking for any money. I just want him to have a good home where he will be loved.

Story
Coco has been my mom and I's amazing pet for the past 7 years. Due to a mental health crisis home situation, I had to remove her from my mother's home and am trying to find a new loving home for her before I have to move back to school. She is house trained, well behaved (no counter jumping, shoe chewing, etc.), loves to play fetch, knows basic commands like sit, lay, and shake and loves to snuggle up next to the couch. She is fully up to date on vaccines and tests as of 7/28/2026, microchipped, spayed, and has no health conditions. She would thrive in a home with lots of love and attention and is accustomed to being inside for long periods of time without issues. She loves having a buddy to play with but would do better with dogs close to her size for playing. She loves other dogs has no dominance issues but does get excited when seeing them on walks. Coco is 53lbs and 8 years old, gets along well with kids, but likely not cats. She is so sweet and would make a great family pet.

Ah’Pele is mixed Australian shepherd and unknown. She is 7 months (born Dec. 19, 2026). She has all her shots up to date. Unfortunately, we have to give her up for adoption due to family health reasons and we can no longer keep her. She’s full of energy and is still learning. She is potty trained and gets along with kids. Looking for a loving family or anyone in need of a new best friend.

Story
Meet Cody! Cody is a 13.2-pound, 3–5-year-old Terrier mix.  He's a sweet little dude with spectacular ears and a sweet, affectionate demeanor. He's housetrained, crate trained, good in the car and loves to go on walks.   Cody would be happiest in an adult-only home, no young kiddos. He may do well with a compatible larger dog, and we’re not yet sure how he feels about cats. Cody was found loose so while we would love to say with certainty he's four years old and a Yorkie, the truth is that is our very best guess. THINK CODY MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT?  HERE'S WHAT COMES NEXT: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor, and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2788366##
