Hi, I'm Clove! I am a smart, gorgeous (if I say so myself) Pekingese. I had been with my caretakers all my life but recently they found out they had to move and weren't\ going to be able to take me along. So here I am at Shelter Hope, waiting for my new family to find me. They'll see that I know a lot of things already. I am after all 14, I've been around the block a few times! And even tho I'm a senior, don't let that fool you. I'm still very young at heart. If you'd like to have a lovely gal as a companion, I'm ready and waiting. I'd love to spend our days together. I am good with other dogs and I am house broken-I know how to use the doggie door. I take gabapentin for some back pain and it helps so much! I also had a cherry eye removed ( Cherry eye in dogs, also known as prolapse of the gland of the third eyelid, occurs when the gland within the third eyelid pops out of its normal position. This gland, which contributes to tear production, becomes visible as a reddish, swollen mass in the corner of the eye). Now you can see my beautiful eyes! A home with no young kids would be preferable. Wanna be besties? Please note: All of our dogs reside in private foster homes. Once you submit an application, our volunteer adoption team will screen it; if your application is a potential match for a specific dog, it will be forwarded to the foster parent, who will contact you to answer questions and schedule a meet-and-greet. Louise is a delightful mix of Pekingese and French Bulldog! She's a 3 year old girl who loves life and is always up for a good time. She was found as a stray with her sister Thelma. She walks well on a leash and has a friendly personality. Her coat resembles a soft mink! She weighs about 25 pounds, a great size for a companion dog. She gets along with other dogs and has a playful energy. She can also be a snuggle buddy if that's what you'd prefer. The nature of rescuing animals doesn't allow us to always know if an animal is fully housebroken. All of our dogs are kept safe in kennels and its not easy to fully confirm if they are housebroken. But they are all kennel trained and can be housebroken very quickly. If an animal is posted, they are VERY likely available.
