Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Daisy is an adorable pup who is looking for a new home. This sweet girl will be in a NJ foster home on 5/13. Daisy is the kind of dog who makes every day feel a little brighter—because she’s always smiling. This happy girl was on her way to a rural shelter with her younger sibling, Buttercup, when a kind-hearted volunteer stepped in to change their path. Thanks to that moment of compassion, Daisy now has the chance to find the loving home she truly deserves. Daisy is full of joy and loves just about everything—other dogs, people, toys, treats, and, most of all, attention. She’s the type of dog who will happily greet you with a wagging tail and a big smile, ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. She has a warm, friendly personality that makes her an easy fit for many homes. Whether she’s playing with her dog friends, enjoying a new toy, or soaking up affection from her people, Daisy is simply happy to be included. If you’re looking for a cheerful, loving companion who will keep a smile on your face, Daisy is ready to meet you. Daisy is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption donation is $500.  Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 9, 2026, 12:43 pm

Story
Milo is a friendly 12 year old surrendered due to his owner's failing health. Sadly, Milo's own health has been neglected for quite a while as well, and he's been suffering from painful itchy skin infections all over his body, ear infections, and untreated chronic dry eye. He's seen our vet for a full work up and is on a regimen of medications, medicated baths, and longterm eye drops and will need someone to stay on top of his treatments longterm so he's not suffering. He looks to be a shih tzu/peke mix as far as we can tell, overweight at 24lbs. He's not happy about being picked up but otherwise a social nice guy, good with other gentle dogs and already feeling better and happier since starting treatment. Please submit an application to meet this sweet senior Primary Color: Tan Age: 12yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Yo-Yo has had a rough few weeks since coming to us but is finally starting to relax. This 3 year old was surrendered because he was being left along 14+ hours a day and no one had any time for him. He had a cherry eye and matted dreadlocks hanging from him, and was terrified and clearly not used to much handling. He’s never been on a leash (or when he was something bad definitely happened) and absolutely HATES them- as soon as he even sees a leash coming near him he instantly panics and try to bite to get it off of him. Without the leash he lets us pick him up easily and dances around for attention. He had a cherry eye repair and wasn’t happy about the cone on his neck or the vet staff or us trying to do eye drops while he was recovering, but now all has been forgiven since he is recovered. But he’s not the type of dog that really wants any one in his face too much or picking at him and will probably need sleepytime meds for grooming in the future. He seems to be some kind of Maltese/peke/Shih Tzu mix, under 15lbs and not a completely nonshedding coat so at least he doesn’t have to be groomed quite as often. He likes other dogs and follows them in and out of the fenced yard easily; while we don’t require it for all dogs, little Yo-Yo definitely needs offense due to his intense dislike of leashes at this point. He’s looking for an adult home that understands weird little dogs who don’t want to be messed with and will let him come for attention on his terms. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Yo-Yo in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Gertie 10 years young · 13 lbs · Female · Small-breed mix Gertie arrived at Manhattan ACC as a stray — though one look at this fluffy, underbite-having, eyelash-batting little creature and it's hard to imagine she fended for herself for long. Someone was definitely spoiling her. She's got adorable tufted ears, a signature underbite, and — full disclosure — a rough recent haircut she is still recovering from. The luscious locks will return. In the meantime, she's working the gremlin-chic look with full confidence. Gertie has a highly optimized daily routine: walk the neighborhood, collect her cheese and treat tax from admirers, return home victorious, nap. Repeat. She has already become a local fixture, deploying her white eyelashes at full power on anyone who makes eye contact. She is not a barker — she's a communicator. Gertie vocalizes her feelings with enthusiastic little whines that make her inner life completely transparent. Joy? You'll know. Opinions about dinner timing? Very much known. You will never be left guessing. She loves walks (she sees that leash, she knows), chasing a good ball, and finding the ideal pillow arrangement. Squeaky toys remain a philosophical puzzle she has not yet solved, but she's keeping an open mind. Day-to-Day with Gertie: Fully house-trained and recently spayed  Does great home alone — no separation anxiety Excited about walks every single time Ball chaser, pillow connoisseur, treat negotiator Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Spayed/neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.      To apply to adopt Gertie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2729183##

Story
Meet Pudgie - 9 years young, 23 pounds of charm, and zero ounces of drama! This amazing Shepherd/Pekingese mix somehow manages to be gentle, enthusiastic, social, polite, and ridiculously lovable, all at the same time! Pudgie is respectful around other dogs, and fantastic with kids, adults, and seniors - - basically, if you have a pulse, Pudgie is your pal! He’s very friendly and attentive to his people, without being pushy or annoying. He simply wants to be near you…preferably while being scratched or pet…or both! Outdoorsy and fit, Pudgie loves going on walks and is pure perfection on a leash. He enjoys taking in the world around him, stopping to investigate interesting sights and smells, like a gleeful, curious explorer. His energy level is playful but civilized - - he’s happy to stroll, happy to hang, and happy to relax when the day is done. Pudgie is fully housebroken, not much of a barker, shares his toys and belongings like a gentleman, loves treats, likes toys, and has a healthy appetite. If he’s in the middle of eating something tasty, he prefers that you allow him adequate time to finish, as opposed to whisking it away from him - - which frankly, is very relatable. Pudgie is the ideal blend of upbeat yet calm, fun yet quiet, affectionate yet independent, and just an all-around really great dog. The kind you wonder how he hasn’t already been scooped up. Hint hint: Don’t wait too long! If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will fit beautifully into just about any home, Pudgie is ready to waddle his way right into your heart! If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament or age of any dog.
