Story
Diamond was born around February 21, 2017 and weighs about 15 pounds.  Joyful was contacted by the brother of a man who had gone into Hospice and left behind 3 dogs and a cat.  The man's brother had owned the animals and loved them very much but he was ill and unable to take care of himself let alone his pets.  Diamond only has one eye and we were not told why or how she lost the other one.  Diamond arrived in somewhat better condition than Millie. Diamond was infested with fleas, her toenails curled into her paws and had skin infections. Diamond is feeling much better and is a very sweet girl. Diamond loves other dogs and is fine with kitties.  Diamond rides well in the car and walks fine on a leash.  Diamond is somewhat shy at first but quickly begins to love once she knows she is safe. This sweet girl has had a rough couple of years and can not wait for her to live the good life once again.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $475.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Millie was born around February 22, 2015 and weighs about 22 pounds.  Joyful was contacted by the brother of a man who had gone into Hospice and left behind 3 dogs and a cat.  The man's brother had owned the animals and loved them very much but he was ill and unable to take care of himself let alone his pets.   Millie's toenails were curled into the pads on all 4 feet. Her flea infestation had caused what looked like bed sores and some of her wrinkles had maggots in them.  The skin covering her legs was so inflamed she couldn't physically bend one of them. Once we got the matted hair off we found urine scald running the length of her underside and covering her back end.  Her lady parts had thick hair congealed with a paste made of urine and filth making it impossible for her to urinate properly.  Even though her pain and discomfort level must have been unbearable Millie wagged her tail and kissed us the entire time we worked on getting her cleaned up.  Millie is feeling much better but she will need ongoing care.  Millie is currently in a foster home with other dogs and kitties and loves them all however I would not put her with a rambunctious dog as she's not interested in playing.  Millie adores her humans and would like to be with them as much as possible. She uses her nose to follow her foster dad around the house and will coo or snort like pig at him to be picked up.  Millie has been wonderful with housetraining but because of her age and sight/sound impairment it will take time for her to adjust to new surroundings and environment so be prepared for accidents. We really love this girl and will be looking for the perfect match for her.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $475.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
We are in the unfortunate and sad position where we have to give up our dog. He is a Pekingese tibetan spaniel mix. We think he’s around 9-10 years old. We found him so unsure of exact age). Male, fixed. He is the sweetest dog who loves people. He is very friendly but has lost his hearing almost entirely due to numerous ear infections in the past that we tried so hard to keep up with (we had constant vet visits/treatments but the last time he unfortunately lost most of his hearing). He is happy to just hang out inside all day but loves walks as well. He is a very stubborn dog and knows what he wants (and will let you know as well!) he can be a lot of work but he is a sweet dog who just wants attention and love. He needs someone who is home a lot of the time and can spend quality time with him. Once he gets to know you, he will love and protect you at all costs. He’s our little baby, and we just want to find him a home where he can be loved and cared for.
