Story
Hi there everyone, I’m Cher, and I’m wagging my tail in hopes of finding my forever or foster home! At about 3 years old and 13 lbs, I may be a petite Peke mix, but my sweet demeanor and loving heart make me larger than life! I’m the epitome of a social butterfly, getting along swimmingly with other dogs and always ready to make new furry friends. Oh, and I wanted to let you know I came to the rescue with my buddy Sonny, who’s also looking for his own forever home. While I’m a happy-go-lucky girl, I thrive best in a home with kids above 10—just the right environment for me to flourish and spread joy wherever I go. Life’s an adventure, and I’m ready to dive right in with my forever family where I can enjoy lots of love and belly rubs! Cher is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
My name is Sonny, and I’m on the search for my forever or foster home! I’m a 1 year old Peke mix weighing in at a charming 18 lbs. While I may be a bit of a timid boy at first, once you get to know me, you'll see that I'm a loyal (and of course adorable) companion ready to steal your heart. I’m great with other dogs, making me the paw-fect addition to any furry family. Speaking of other dogs, I came to the rescue with my friend Cher who is also looking for a home! Life’s all about finding the right fit, and for me, a home with no kids below 10 would be ideal. I can’t wait to experience all the joys of life with my forever family- could that be you? Sonny is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK NORTH NEW JERSEY Harvey is the sweetest little black with white Pekingese boy. He is 13 pounds and probably around 8 years old. He is extremely affectionate with his humans and will stare into your eyes so you know he loves you! He is a fun little guy and loves chasing a tossed toy and playing with the other pups in his foster home. Harvey lived with Teddy (also available, see pic above) and they can go home together or individually. Harvey is very well behaved and a super chill little guy. He LOVES sitting outside in any weather. Even in the rain! He would love a nice grassy area to hang out in and a fenced yard would be even better so he can meander around as he likes. He can be an only dog since his humans are his priority but he can live with other small breed pups (and other Pekes of course). He LOVES running around the yard with his foster siblings. Extensive vetting has been done and he is in excellent health. Housebroken UTD Dental Neutered HW negative Blood work Urinalysis Xrays Eye tests Adoption donation: $450 TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. We typically get in touch within 24-48 hours, but it may take up to 10 days. Please watch your email and answer your phone (from 201 area code) after you submit an application. Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower to reply to all applicants. We also do not have the manpower to accept phone calls. Everything we know about the dog is posted above. Our adoption process is on our website. You can see more about our daily operations on our Facebook page. PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with us, we will move on to the next application and you will not be considered. We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey, and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is “first qualified, first come” and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue, and we reserve the right to deny adoption at any point during the process.

PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK NORTH NEW JERSEY Teddy is the sweetest little cream and tan Pekingese boy. He is 13 pounds and probably around 8 years old. He is extremely affectionate with his humans and loves to give you kisses! He is a super chill guy that loves to lounge around and sun himself by the window. Teddy lived with Harvey (also available, see pic above) and they can go home together or individually. Teddy is pretty low key and just does his own thing most of the day. He does get excited and does a little happy dance when he comes back into the house after roaming around the yard. He can be an only dog since his humans are his priority but he can live with other small breed pups (and other Pekes of course). He loves going for walks or would love a fenced in yard to meander around. Tweenagers and up please. Extensive vetting has been done and he is in excellent health. He does have dry eyes and very early glaucoma so he is on eye drops for both. He also arrived at the shelter with horrible ear infections that we have been treating. Due to the lack of care of his eyes and ears, his vision and hearing are not perfect but he gets around just fine and they seem to be improving now that he is getting what he needs medically. Story
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK MEET SPAULDING the PEKINGESE!!! North New Jersey Spaulding is a 2 year old, 18 lb. male black and white parti CKC Registered Pekingese with the coolest tail that flips black-white from side to side! This little guy is SUPER sweet and he LOVES being with his people and giving hugs and kissies. He is VERY playful with toys and other pups. He can be rambunctious and would do well with a furry playmate of equal size and strength. He is a very good listener and knows some commands. He is housebroken and looks to his person for guidance. He knows the routine in the home well. He was bought as a puppy into a home with three young children. Unfortunately, now that he is bigger he does not appreciate being man-handled by small kids and he has bite history with the kids in the home (not his fault!). Thus, Spaulding needs a kid-free home (no young kids living or visiting--teenagers and up ok) where he can continue to thrive. In his foster home he has been the sweetest most well-behaved little guy. He was wonderful at the groomer and at the vet. He loves everyone he meets and promptly jumps in your lap and gives kissies. Spaulding has been brought UTD, neutered, chipped, dewormed, he is HW and Lyme negative, had allergy testing, and is housebroken. He also knows how to use potty pads if they are available. He is allergic to chicken and doing well on a lamb-based kibble. He will go home with a bag of his kibble. Given his high energy level, a fenced in yard is required as is another fur sibling he can romp with. He really enjoys playing and hanging out with his fur friends and does well having another doggie friend (or more) to hang out with. He happens to do extremely well with Bodie who is also for adoption. Breed experience is preferred and will be prioritized (or similar brachycephalic breeds). Adoption donation is $550. TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD.
