Meet Margo! She was surrendered to us around 14 weeks old when she had diarrhea and the original owners could not afford the extensive veterinary care. Margo had an intestinal parasite called Tritrichomonas which was the cause of her diarrhea in addition to a couple other parasites. She has been treated and does not have diarrhea any longer and is doing great! As with most Tritrichomonas cats, she is still testing positive for the parasite despite having no clinical signs, which is common for this parasite. Cats often can carry this asymptomatically for life and because of that, they are recommended to be the only cat in the home or in a home with other Tritrichomonas cats.
