Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 9 puppies surrendered to Loving Paws Animal Rescue in Oklahoma after their owner faced deportation. Intake included 6 males and 3 females. From the foster: Phoenix – German Shepherd Mix Puppy Phoenix is a spirited and affectionate German Shepherd mix puppy with a big personality and an adorable white “flame” on the tip of his tail. Like many puppies who are still adjusting to home life, he can be a little shy at first—but once he warms up, his loving and playful nature truly shines. He greets his people with excitement, happily seeking out attention and even trying to climb into your lap for extra snuggles. Phoenix has a fun-loving energy and enjoys games like tug-of-war, along with zooming around the yard in search of the perfect stick or pinecone to proudly “conquer.” He’s also already proven himself to be quite the toy enthusiast, having mastered the art of destuffing in record time. Phoenix has done well with older children and is gradually becoming more comfortable around other dogs. With continued positive experiences, he has all the makings of a wonderful addition to a dog-loving home. This smart boy has already learned to use the doggy door and prefers to potty outside, giving him a great foundation for continued potty training success. Phoenix is looking for a forever home that will provide patience, encouragement, and lots of opportunities to play. In return, he’ll bring joy, personality, and plenty of puppy love to his new family. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

What we know: Litter of 9 puppies surrendered to Loving Paws Animal Rescue in Oklahoma after their owner faced deportation. Intake included 6 males and 3 females. From the foster: Boston – German Shepherd Mix Puppy Boston is a playful and sensitive German Shepherd mix puppy who is still learning about the world and building confidence with new people. Once he realizes you’re someone special, he quickly becomes your little shadow—following you around, asking for head scratches, and happily trying to curl up in your lap. This sweet boy has incredibly expressive eyes and a way of “talking” to you without making a sound—you’ll know exactly what he wants just by the look he gives. He loves cozy spots where he can curl up for a nap and is already showing off his puppy personality as an enthusiastic toy “inspector,” carefully removing all the limbs, wings, and flappy bits before going in for the full destuff. Boston is a smart pup who is already off to a great start with training. In his foster home, he quickly learned to use the doggy door and has had very few accidents indoors. With continued positive reinforcement and consistency, he’s well on his way to being fully potty trained. He is still gaining confidence around other dogs, especially older ones, but continues to make progress each day. With a patient and loving home, Boston will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. Boston would thrive in a home that can offer encouragement, gentle guidance, and plenty of snuggles as he grows into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: 1-year-old spayed female transferred from Española Humane Society in New Mexico. Intake type: transfer. Up-to-date on vaccines at the time of intake. Was not adoptable at the originating shelter due to a history of chasing livestock. Animal control had determined that euthanasia would have been the next step if placement could not be secured, citing prey drive concerns. Partnering shelter requested transfer to allow for placement opportunity. ** I am a dog who needs a yard and room to run around ** From the foster: Star is a perfect name for this young lady. She will be a shining star in your home. She is one of the most loving dogs I have ever known. She is sooooo excited to see you every time you enter a room. She absolutely loves spending time close to her humans. Sometimes she forgets how big she is and fills the whole chair on your lap. Star is potty and crate trained. She has been sleeping on our bed or by our bed with no issues. She enjoys her stuffed toys and chew toys. She has also enjoyed our backyard and loves laying on the cool grass. She learned how to use the dog door very quickly. She knows basic commands and will play fetch with you. She is very playful and would probably like a friend to play with. If you are looking for a big white teddy bear, you have to come meet Star! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
