Libby is a sweet, playful 6–7-month-old dog looking for her forever family. She came to us unexpectedly after a friend’s neighbor threatened to have her euthanized if no one could foster her. Since coming into our care, Libby has thrived. She is fully up to date on her vaccines and, after spending much of her early life on a chain or in a crate, now enjoys plenty of freedom to play and explore. She sleeps in her crate at night while everyone is in bed, and during the day she runs in our fenced yard and explores our home. Libby is remarkably well-adjusted, happy, and affectionate. She gets along with every dog she has met and loves people, too. She will likely remain a high-energy girl, so she needs an adopter who can provide regular exercise, attention, playtime, and guidance. Our senior cat is too low-energy for her, and our 3-year-old dog prefers to be an only dog, so we are seeking a better long-term match for Libby.

Story
Tika is a 7 year old husky who we adopted three years ago. We adopted her from a family due to neglect and inability to care for her appropriately. Over the past three years she has been a loved member of our family. However, with our family’s increased engagement in sports and changes associated with our in office work schedules, she has regressed and needs more than we can provide. One year ago we also lost our oldest dog, after 16 wonderful years. We believe separation anxiety is the biggest obstacle we cannot overcome. Tika would do best in a home with another dog, or at a minimum, a family who has someone consistently available to keep her company. She is a sweet, social, and lovable girl who will be greatly missed. We are doing what is best for her overall wellbeing and kindly request that someone with experiences with huskies takes her in for her forever home.

Hi, my name is Remington - nice to me you! I am listed as "special needs" because my vision is limited due to cataracts. I am not in any pain but I do need steroids - eye drops - the cost is about $12 a month using an online pharmacy. Even though my eyesight is limited, it doesn't slow me down! One of my favorite things to do is to play fetch - we play every night! Check out my video in my bio pics - I think I'm pretty good (as long as the ball isn't thrown too far), don't you? I am a silly girl who just likes to play. I get along really well with people and dogs. One of my favorite things is playing with my foster siblings - even though I will play with everyone, I usually will gravitate towards one pal at a time. I can be a little reserved at first with my humans but once I trust you, I'm very affectionate and like to give hugs! ***Special needs - I need eyedrops for my cataracts*** ADOPTION FEE: $300 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: MUST have breed experience BIRTHDAY: 9/28/22 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes DOGS IN HOME: Yes CATS: Unknown CHILDREN: Yes - 8 years and older I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $300 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! ***WE DO NOT HOLD DOGS. IF YOU ARE GOING ON VACATION OR ARE NOT YET READY TO PROCEED PLEASE APPLY WHEN YOU ARE.*** INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com.
