Story
Koton is a well-mannered, intelligent, and loyal 2-year-old German Shepherd looking for a home that understands his need for both mental and physical stimulation. He has the potential to go home with other dogs, with proper introductions. He does seem to do better with smaller female dogs, nothing against males he just prefers females. No cats for this guy! He has a high prey drive and will go after them. He has lived with children ages 2+ and done well. If you have other dogs or children at home, please bring them in for a meet and greet to ensure they are a match. Koton prefers women over men—again, nothing personal, he just gravitates toward the ladies! He was housebroken and crate trained before coming to the shelter but may need a refresher. Tennis balls rule his world and he will spend hours chasing them. Koton Will need consistent and ongoing training. His favorite treats are, freeze dried salmon, busy bones and dentastix, which will help in the training process. With being from a herding breed, Koton has strong loyalty, courage, and guarding instincts. To keep his mind and body engaged, he’ll need a job to do and plenty of enrichment. Here are some great activities to keep him happy:Hide & Seek: Helps with recall and mental stimulation.Agility Courses: Set up obstacles or try agility classes.Scent Walks: Let him explore new places through smell.Snuffle Mat: Engages his nose and mind.Puzzle Toys: Encourages problem-solving with hidden treats.Stuffed Kong: A great way to provide calm stimulation.Interactive Games: Encourages him to think and work through commands.Koton enjoys gentle belly rubs. He is not a fan of you being in his face, even if for affection.Koton is ready to be your devoted partner, and with the right enrichment, training, and love, he will make an incredible companion. If you`re looking for an intelligent, driven, and affectionate shepherd, come meet Koton today!

Story
Chase is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with endless energy and a big heart! This playful pup is always ready for action and loves to be wherever his people are. He’s very treat-motivated, making training a fun and rewarding experience! Knows sit, give paw, and down. Chase needs leash training & would benefit from a harness, as he pulls when being walked. He Loves to play fetch and is a strong chewer, so tough toys are a must. He is good with children of all ages. He does bark at other dogs and will try to show his dominance, so if you have another dog at home, please bring them in for a meet and greet. He has never been around cats, so we are not sure how he would do.Chase is looking for an active home that can keep up with his adventurous spirit and continue his training. If you’re ready for a playful, loyal companion, Chase is your guy! Stop by SPCA Cincinnati to visit him today!
