Story
Winston is a Pit-Lab mix that we rescued back in 2019. We think he is around 6 years old and is full of energy. He is a very loving dog and very smart but we can’t give him the attention he needs and deserves. We recently welcomed our first baby and Winston has become much more of a handful than we can manage now. He gets bored easily and tends to get mischievous without attention. He’s also become jealous of the new baby which has made us wary. While he has been our baby for the past 6 years we have to do what is best for our son and growing family. Generally, Winston is great with adults, older kids, and other dogs, but he is not good with cats and young toddlers or babies. Winston needs an owner who is able to spend the time to exercise and socialize him on a regular basis. He loves running, hiking, playing fetch & snuggles on the couch. He has been an amazing member of our family and we hope to find his forever home!

Story
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy grew up on the streets, but this handsome German Shepherd mix was made for a life in the sheets! After spending his life searching for food and shelter, Ziggy is ready to trade the Texas heat and hard life outdoors for a soft bed and the loving home he deserves. Ziggy is the sweetest, gentlest soul. He's calm, incredibly easygoing, and honestly just a big professional napper. He also loves a good car ride and is always up for a little adventure! He truly seems content and grateful where ever he goes. He would make an amazing companion for an older person looking for a quiet, loyal buddy, but he'd also be wonderful in a family home. He's house trained, uses a dog door, knows sit, and does wonderfully in an x-pen or crate. One of the sweetest things about Ziggy is how polite he is. He will patiently wait at the threshold of a doorway until he's invited inside. He's kid-friendly and dog-friendly, about 3 yrs old and has been an absolute dream to have around. He has not yet been tested with cats. Ziggy doesn't need much. He just wants a soft place to land, someone to love, and a home where he can finally relax and be the happy, carefree boy he was always meant to be. Ziggy is ready for his forever home. No more searching for food. No more sleeping outside. No more Texas heat. Just a couch, a cozy bed, a family of his own, and maybe a few adventures along the way. * Available in the Austin, TX area or can Transport to the PNW for an extra $200 fee.

Story
Meet Miss Lovie Some dogs want to be the center of attention. Miss Lovie would rather be your favorite sidekick. Are you a nervous person? Do you need extra personal space in public? Are you suspicious of oversized garden decorations? Then Miss Lovie might be the perfect dog for you! This loving, shy little lady needs someone who is patient and provides them with a little extra time & space before they're comfortable. Once Lovie is established in her home, she becomes a snuggle magnet who only wants to be with her person. She is friendly (and quite submissive) with every dog she meets and relaxed around cats. She loves anything to chew on: ropes and rubber toys are good, but tennis balls are a favorite. She walks great on the leash (please see: "extra space" addendum :P) and is developing skills with a kennel She's the kind of dog who's happiest tagging along—whether that's a trip to the dog park, a walk around the neighborhood, or anywhere she can splash in the water. If she spots a pond, creek, or kiddie pool, she's probably already planning her next swim. At just a year old and about 35 pounds, Miss Lovie is the perfect in-between size. Big enough to join you on adventures, but small enough to fit comfortably into just about any lifestyle. She can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but don't mistake that for a lack of interest. Give her a little time, let her come to you, and before long she'll be leaning against your leg asking for scratches and following you from room to room. Miss Lovie gets along well with other dogs and loves making new friends at the dog park. She's playful without being over the top, enjoys being outside, and is just as happy relaxing with her people when the day is done. She's spayed, vaccinated, and ready for a family that understands the best relationships aren't rushed—they're earned. If you're willing to give her a few days to settle in, you'll gain a best friend who is worth every minute of the wait. If that sounds like the kind of companion you've been looking for, Miss Lovie can't wait to meet you. Apply here: https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster
