Story
Keenai is a loving, high-energy dog who thrives on companionship and being part of an active home. He previously lived in a busy household with children and other dogs, and he truly enjoys having people or canine friends around to interact and play with. He loves going on walks, spending time outdoors, and also relaxing inside with his people. Keenai is affectionate, social, and happiest when he’s included in daily life. He does best with regular exercise and mental stimulation. Keenai can struggle with long periods alone, especially at first, and would be an excellent match for a family, a home with another dog, or someone who is home more often and enjoys an active lifestyle. With the right environment, he has so much love and loyalty to give. This rehoming decision is being made to ensure Keenai can have the time, attention, and companionship he deserves. With my 12hr shifts 4days a week, I’m unable to provide that for him.

Story
Here's what you need to know about me:My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:  Townsend is such a good boy!! He is loving, smart, and handsome! What else could you want in a new best friend 😊. Townsend knows sit and loves all the classic dog activities - going for walks, sniffing, playing with toys, wrestling with dog friends (so far, he hasn't met a dog he doesn't like) and cuddling his person on the couch. Townsend is food motivated, which makes him easy to train, and he is great at catching treats in his mouth, which makes him fun! Townsend likes car rides and is house trained. Townsend would benefit from slow, cheese filled introductions to new people, but once he decides you're safe you will be rewarded with a wonderful new bestie. Townsend is a young chap with his whole life ahead of him and he would love to go home with a family who can help him burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures but Townsend is also happy to simply hang out and snuggle on the couch. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along, he's been doing well with kids/toddlers in foster.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email caninefoster@southwesthumane.org. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 53 Age: 2yrs 1mths 0wks
