Adopt me on the 4th of December and my fee is waived! It's the Craig Stein Yappy Hour and we're honoring our friend Craig by waiving adoption fees for all pets. And every pet adopted during the promotion will also receive a branded bandana and a starter kit with food, treats, and toys! Here's what you need to know about me:I'm an active dog! I would love to go home with a family who can help me burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures.I may jump and play rough. I don't mean to, I just get really excited when I play!I'd like a home where my family is home often. I'm just really social and love spending time with people, I prefer to not be left alone for long periods. If there are kids in my new home, I prefer them to be older than 6 and would like to meet them before going home. An adoption counselor can tell you more. It's recommended I meet any dogs living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm not on the general adoption floor. Story
Beautiful 2yr old male German Shepherd dog. Very easy going, listens well, and doesnt bark or whine. Medium energy level, loves to run after balls (for a few minutes) then lay on the grass and play. Wants all the balls, but doesnt want to give any back. He is oung and wants to play, and sometimes mistakes hands and feet for chew toys, but stops when told Enjoys morning, evening, and mid day walks, lounging around the house near the AC vents, and rolling in the grass when its sunny. Give him a rubber ball or bone to chew on and hes a happy dog. Not very good with basic commands yet, but will sit fast for dehydrated chicken pieces. Comes when called, even when distracted by other animals or sounds. House trained, able to be inside for 8-12 hours without accidents. No issues with walking on a leash and harness. When he sees another cat, dog, or squirrel he still listens and will come when called. Neutered, microchipped, and has had first rounds of vaccinations at the shelter.

Story
I adopted Behr from a guy that was giving him and his sister away. He is very loving, needs a lot of attention. He very much enjoys car rides, playing with his kong ball outside, and going on walks (halfway leash trained). Behr needs room to run, he is a very energetic dog and is very active. He gets along with other dogs, however sometimes shows his dominance and might be better off being a single pet. Behr loves to cuddle, and is very affectionate to those around him.

Story
COURTESY POST: This dog is not currently with Stumptown Strays. She is in need of a new home and here is what her person says about her: "Meet Pie, a 1.75 year old German Shepherd mix looking for her (human) other half. Pie is human-esque, bright, loyal, affectionate, and TRULY a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog. Her Portland-based cult following says it all. Charisma MACHINE. Pie first came to Portland after being hit by a car and having a plate installed in her leg. Despite the medical trauma, she LOVES the vet. Appointment times do not apply to Pie; she would prefer to be waved straight into the back to hang out with her pals. I mention this specifically because it tells you everything about the kind of dog Pie is; resilient and determined to enjoy life, no matter the odds. We adopted Pie six months ago and have gotten to see her blossom. The joy she exudes is unmatched. She is, quite literally, the smartest dog we have ever met. Soon, she will be able to search things out using her nose! She loves to participate in everything you do, whether that be baking, putting away groceries, or gardening. She does great in a car, can walk on a leash, and with a bit of training, she will be the dog you can take with you on any adventure. When life gets loud, Pie will often request alone time and wants us to put on her favorite show, Bob’s Burgers (her favorite character is Louise if that tells you anything about her). As much as we love her, Pie has decided that it’s time to find a home where she is the only pet. She loves to play with other dogs, but it seems like they’re not ideal housemates for her. Pie is looking for her other half. She doesn’t need perfection in a home, she just needs her person. A Bob's Burgers loving, semi-active human who will love her back with the same intensity she would love you with." If you are interested in meeting Pie, please either send us a message through PetFinder or email info@stumptownstrays.org! There is no adoption fee for Pie. Due to her injury, Pie does need to stay on chronic pain medication and she does best while also on Prozac for her anxiety.

Story
This is my best friend, at least an animal one. I got her about 3 years ago. But as time has gone on I have gotten married and I am expecting a baby in January maybe sooner, I have to move due to this and sadly when I am moving does not allow her breed. I’ve tried to potty train her and she is good with me and behaves for me, but I work almost all day and she does not listen to my wife or behave in the house for her. She is a Belgian Malinois, shepherd and mixed husky. She is very sweet at least in my opinion and needs attention on her!

Story
We’ve had Lou since she was 3 months old. We adopted her from a shelter in Moab, Utah and she has been a great dog. She is mild-mannered and affectionate with her people. She is obedient and has never chewed any shoes or furniture, and is potty-trained. She responds well to commands, and is her best self off leash getting to roam trails, always coming back when called. We’ve taken her to the dog park 2-3x a week since she was a pup. She is friendly with other dogs, but is more interested in the ball. Always done well in boarding. We love her, but being a young family on the move, bringing her along is now too difficult for us. The right new home for Lou would be one where she has a yard to roam, and a loving family to provide stability for her to be her normal sweet self.
