Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:I am calm, gentle and lovable. I am easy to walk, intelligent and good at communicating with people. I love nature and playing with balls. I only bark when someone is at the door.I have some handling sensitivity. That means I have some preferences about how and where I get petted. My human friends at the shelter can tell you more!I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted.I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email caninefoster@southwesthumane.org Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 50.6 Age: 5yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:Vexa is a sweet, gentle Husky with a calm and affectionate nature. Unlike many Huskies, she's not very vocal, though she'll happily use her excited voice and offer a few kisses to show how much she loves her people.Vexa's favorite place is right beside her companions-whether that's her human or a canine friend. She especially enjoys relaxing outdoors, listening to the birds and taking in nature. She has formed a lovely friendship with her resident Black Lab companion and has recently started showing off her adorable, gentle play style. She would likely enjoy having a calm dog friend to pal around with.In the home, Vexa is a wonderfully relaxed house guest. She loves cozy naps, comfortable beds, and simply being near those she cares about. She enjoys gentle affection, especially chin scratches and head pets, and has shown no sensitivity to handling.Vexa would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle and appreciates a dog who simply wants to be close. She isn't a high-energy Husky looking for constant activity-instead, she's happiest relaxing with her people, enjoying the outdoors, and listening to the sounds of nature.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! Story
Vaccinations CurrentMedical conditions NoneShe has been an incredible companion these last 6 years, loves hiking and receives endless compliments on how well trained she is, not to mention her eyes. She has been to Canada, mountain biking and enjoys the occasional swim in the river. Between work and personal travel she is spending far more time at day care and boarding than I'd prefer and think she would be best fit with someone who can give her the time and attention she deserves. I think she'd prefer another dog in the house as we used to have one. She loves learning new tricks, catching and searching for treats. You'll love herBehavioral concerns: None Currently She was originally rehomed in 2019 due to being found with another dog and allegedly had attacked a cat, I've not personally experienced this with her, and she has been around farm animals, including chickens with no issues. With that said, out of precaution, if you have a cat she may not be the dog for you.

Story
Shefa is a playful, intelligent dog with a big personality and lots of love to give. I brought her home when she was just three months old — the shy runt of the litter — and she has grown up in a busy home with five young boys, so she absolutely loves kids and thrives around people and other dogs. She’s high-energy, silly, and happiest when she’s running, playing, and doing her signature “prey and pounce” moves with other dogs in the field. Once she’s well exercised, she settles down nicely and loves showing off the many tricks she’s learned. Shefa would do best with an active owner or family who has the time and space to play with her and continue giving her the attention and engagement she loves.

Bear is a good boy who is not getting the love he deserves. I am a single mom of two and between working and school, with no backyard, he isn’t getting the exercise or time he needs. Looking for a good home for a good boy.

Story
Diesel is a great dog and I wish that we could keep him. He’s a loyal companion who loves to be with his family. We have enjoyed many trips with Diesel and he has protected us from harm in the past. He’s an amazing guard dog and is very loving to the people that he cares about. We have unfortunately gotten too busy to properly care for him. Diesel needs to be walked twice a day to be happy. He’s not happy to stay in a back yard. He has been suffering from an itchy back side which we haven’t been able to figure out. He does not have fleas. Before his skin problem he was very good with children. With his backside being irritated, he does bark at them when they get too close to his backside but he has never hurt any one. Diesel is unpredictable with other dogs and has several food allergies. I will provide an allergy list to the new owner. Diesel is a fantastic dog for people who have the time to spend with him and for people with older children. We are very sad to see him go.
