Story
I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me. Story
Meet Nova! Nova is a spayed 7 yo 49lb husky/pittie mix. She is gentle and wants to please her people. She loves her "babies" aka stuffies! Being a husky mix she takes on the trait of a husky talker and will let you know if her dinner is late but has the perfect mix of the sweet, snuggly pit. Her foster has had her around kids around the age of 6 years old and she LOVED them. Even though Nova is an adult dog, she is ready to finally have a loving home to lay her head and live out her best years. If you are looking for a snuggly potato with a pinch of husky sass, Nova may just be your girl!

Story
Sweet Cinnamon is looking for her forever home - could you be the one? This sweet girl was found in Fresno California after being backed into by a car, a Good Samaritan brought her to the local ER. Upon entering the ER she went into active labor and had 7 beautiful pups. Luckily, her wounds from the car were mild and she recovered very well. She was very underweight when found, being the good mama that she is - she used all of her nutrients for her pups. Now her pups are in a separate foster home and sweet Cinnamon gets all of the TLC! So far she has been great with people and other dogs, although she does want to chase cats. Are you looking for a cuddle bug that also has an active side? This girl may be for you! ##2794890##

Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior and Training team here at OHS for consistency and am looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. You'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.New things are a little scary to me, but I all I need is time and someone to show me it's okay.I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!I would prefer to live my life similar to that of an indoor cat. Just a chill homebody who doesn't stray farther than the backyard. The type of home I'm looking for:I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.I must go to a home with a fenced in yard.I would flourish in a quiet, calm environment and a low-traffic home. No busy apartments or dwellings.Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, I would do best in a home with calm, older children. It could be with you! Story
Diesel is a great dog and I wish that we could keep him. He’s a loyal companion who loves to be with his family. We have enjoyed many trips with Diesel and he has protected us from harm in the past. He’s an amazing guard dog and is very loving to the people that he cares about. We have unfortunately gotten too busy to properly care for him. Diesel needs to be walked on a consistent basis to be happy, and our life circumstances simply do not allow for that right now. Diesel is a fantastic dog for people who have the time to spend with him, and we hope he can go to a family who loves him as much as we do.

Story
Zelda is a sweet and playful pup in need of a larger space/yard and ability to be exercised. She is half golden retriever and half Malamute/husky mix. She was raised with a cat, dog and children. She loves playing fetch and has taken basic obedience classes. She is crate trained, house broken, and knows basic commands (sit, wait, drop it, lie down, free, touch) but needs additional leash training She is highly treat-motivated and eager to learn/please. She gets very excited and vocal (howls) when on leash and when she sees other people and dogs. Someone who is willing to take the time and patience to work with her on leash and is an experienced dog owner is recommended. Zelda is pretty chill with moderate level energy levels. Please reach out with any questions to see if Zelda is a good match for you!

Story
I found Loki at the beginning of August 2025. He was just a puppy. I lived in the desert at the time. It was 107° outside and I could not leave him out there. He is sweet, friendly, loves all people, children and adults. He also loves all other dogs. He has never been aggressive towards anything. He loves to play. He has some separation anxiety and tends to attach himself to a specific person. I had to move from a house to an apartment. He needs more attention and obedience training thanni can give him. I live with my daughter and my 5 month old granddaughter. The situation is creating a really bad relationship issue betweem myself and my daughter, especially with the small apartment living. Loki is so sweet and loving but tends to be a little rambunctious at times. I can't stand the thought of him being locked in a cage. He would be so happy to be around other people and dogs. I just want him to be happy and as unconfused as possible. Thank you for your time!
