Here's what you need to know about me: Hi, I'm Tank! I'm a big-hearted guy who loves to shower my humans with love & kisses after we get to know each other. Long, sniffy walks are my favorite, and sometimes I can't help but to hop around like a little deer when I get excited! Not only am I super polite, but I take treats gently and I love to lean into my people for pets and snuggles. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will melt your heart, I'm your guy!I'm an active dog! I would love to go home with a family who can help me burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures.I can be nervous around new people. It just takes me a little while to get comfortable. But once I get to know you, I'm very loving. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor.I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me. Primary Color: Silver Grey Weight: 58.5 Age: 4yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Looking for a good forever home for Kita. She is a pure husky, a bit on the smaller side, and is around 6. She is well behaved, doesn' tdestroy anything. She will definitely howl at new people and when she wants something, but is not mean at all. She's pretty timid around new people but is she is very nice and definitely likes to be pet. New home must be someone who will run her, no kennels, have a decent sized yard, etc etc. She's still pretty active and needs some good active time, but she also likes chilling on her bed for hours so she's a great house dog.

Story
Barbara, our 3 year old 46 pound husky mix, doesn't want you to be intimidated by her Paul Hollywood eyes. Sure, they are so blue that you immediately want to check your pastry for a soggy bottom, but Barbara isn't here to judge you. She just wants to meet your cat and cuddle up with you on the couch. Barbara was found stray with a shoelace imbedded tightly around her neck. She needed time to heal from that deep wound so we happily took her in. Now recovered, Barbara is finally ready for adoption. If given a choice, Barbara's best friends would be cats. She often tries to convince them to play; if uninterested, Barbara will gaze lovingly at them instead. Barbara is tolerant of dogs but they aren't as exciting to her as cats. She would do well with another laid back dog who mostly ignored her. Barbara is house trained and respectful. She hates the crate, but can be trusted to be left out for a short amount of time. Barbara struggles with being alone for more than a few hours though. Although she typically only destroys stuffies, she'll start to get vocal if she's lonely and it takes her a while to come down from that anxiety. We put Barbara on fluoxetine (Prozac) to help with her separation anxiety. We recommend she stay on this for at least 6 months after adoption. Barbara would thrive with an active family. She loves walks and hikes and adventures. Barbara is also very smart and wants to please her people. Like most dogs, Barbara is happiest with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. After trekking, Barbara is good at relaxing on a bar patio with friends or on the couch to watch a movie. Barbara has done very well with older kids. She does guard her food from other animals. Although we've not seen Barbara guard food from people, it is for this reason we don't recommend small kids in her home. Barbara is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $250. Does your cat not mind being lovingly gazed at? Are you confident enough with your baking skills to not be intimidated by a Paul Hollywood stare? Apply to adopt on our website: www.stumptownstrays.org
