Story
Meet Whitaker! Whitaker is the perfect combination of sweet and spunky. This handsome grey-and-white kitten may have had a rough start in life, but you would never know it from his playful spirit and loving personality.Whitaker was found living under a house with a severe eye infection. As he received treatment, it was also discovered that he has entropion, a condition where the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the surface of the eye. While it's uncomfortable, the good news is that entropion can be corrected with surgery, and we'll be arranging that procedure soon.Through it all, Whitaker has remained a happy, affectionate little guy. He loves to play, explore, and spend time with people, and he hasn't let his eye condition slow him down one bit. His resilience and cheerful attitude are truly inspiring.Whitaker is available for adoption now! His future family will simply need to partner with us to get him to his surgery appointments and help with his post-operative care. We'll be there to guide you through the process so he can make a full recovery. This little trooper has already overcome so much, and now all he needs is a loving home where he can continue to thrive. If you're looking for a kitten with a brave heart, a playful spirit, and endless love to give, Whitaker is ready to become your newest family member.*Kittens under the age of 16 weeks must be homed with another cat or adopted in pairs for their social developmentAdoption fee includes:✅ Spay/Neuter✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Whitaker?Email us at: adoption@columbiahumane.org to request an application.Adoption Fee: $175For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgAugust 7, 2026, 6:15 am

Story
**Meet Rosie – A Beautiful Survivor Ready for Her Forever Home!** Rosie is a gorgeous 1–2-year-old black Domestic Shorthair with a resilient spirit and so much love to give. This sweet girl first appeared on someone's patio with her kittens, doing her very best to care for them on her own. Since coming into foster care, Rosie has discovered just how wonderful indoor life can be—and she has embraced every moment of it!Rosie loves the comforts of home: regular meals, cozy naps, fun toys, and plenty of affection. She has a playful and loving personality, greeting her foster mom with head rubs and eagerly soaking up chin and cheek scratches. When she's especially happy, you'll find her making biscuits and purring with contentment. At bedtime, Rosie enjoys curling up next to her person, making her a devoted and affectionate companion.Still young at heart, Rosie loves to play and chase her favorite toys. While she has learned to coexist with the other cats in her foster home, she would truly thrive as the only cat where she can be the center of attention. Rosie did well with the dog in her foster home and could happily live with a cat-friendly canine companion. With her sleek, glossy black coat, striking eyes, and adorable tiny meow that appears right on schedule at mealtime, Rosie is as charming as she is beautiful.Rosie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life with a family of her own. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion, Rosie may be the perfect match. To learn more about Rosie, please email Patricia at dpcadams@comcast.netFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgAugust 7, 2026, 6:15 am
