Story
We are urgently looking for loving homes for six wonderful cats. They are all 6 years old, indoor-only, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and house trained. They have never lived outdoors. Each cat is beautiful and unique, with different colors and personalities. While they may be nervous at first, they quickly become sweet, loving companions.Unfortunately, after the arrival of a second baby, my daughter and her husband are no longer able to provide the care and space these cats need. Our biggest hope is to find them safe, patient, loving homes where they will be cherished. Please reach out if you are interested or would like more details

Story
MEOW! I'm FENNEC, a 5-year-old handsome tabby boy who needs a foster or forever home. I have a sweet personality and beautiful green eyes! I was rescued from a California shelter, and then tested FIV-positive, which only means I need to be the only cat in your home. But I'm a healthy boy and I love human attention and affection. I'm a friendly fellow who loves to be held and cuddled. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I'm all purrs and head rubs. I'm a gentle soul, mellow and easy-going. I promise to bring a touch of tranquility to your life. Can you foster or adopt me? I'm currently in Southern California but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

Story
My mother recently passed away and left behind three cats: Para, Dahlia, and Rosie. Para, who is 2 years old, is the mother of Dahlia and Rosie, who are both 1 year old. They are a very close-knit family and do everything together, eating, sleeping, playing, and even going on walks. They are indoor/outdoor cats, typically sleeping inside and exploring outdoors during the day. In the winter, they spend more time indoors. Despite their strong bond with each other, they are also very friendly and affectionate with people, especially Dahlia. Para is very nurturing and often starts playful wrestling with her daughters. You’ll frequently find all three cuddled up together on a chair. They are low-maintenance cats and just need regular feeding and litter box cleaning. We would love for them to stay together, so we are looking for a home willing to adopt all three

Story
Meet Rosie!Rosie is a beautiful 1–2 year old girl with a resilient spirit and a heart that’s learning how wonderful indoor life can be. She first appeared on a patio with her kittens, doing her best to care for them on her own. Since being welcomed into a foster home, Rosie has safely raised her babies and is now ready for a forever home of her own.Rosie quickly discovered that she loves the comforts of indoor living—cozy naps, regular meals, and kind human companionship. Because of her past, she’s still a bit food-motivated and may curiously check out what you’re eating, but she’s also learning her house manners more every day. She uses her litter box perfectly and truly enjoys affection from her people.Once she trusts you, Rosie is incredibly sweet and loving. She’ll rub up against you for pets, happily accept chin and cheek scratches, and knead away with contentment while making biscuits. She even enjoys curling up next to her person at night, making her a wonderful companion.Rosie has a playful, youthful side and loves to chase toys and burn off her energy. She can have a little “spicy” personality when she’s feeling especially enthusiastic, but she’s never aggressive—just expressive! Because of this, she would thrive with an adopter who understands cat behavior and can read her cues. While Rosie is curious about other cats, she would do best as the only feline in the home where she can soak up all the attention. She has been comfortable around a respectful, cat-friendly dog and could potentially share her space with one. With her glossy coat, striking eyes, and adorable tiny meow when it’s mealtime, Rosie is as charming as she is beautiful. She’s tested, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped—completely ready to start her next chapter.Rosie is available through our Portland adoption ambassador To learn more email Patricia at dpcadams@comcast.netFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 21, 2026, 7:07 am

Story
Meet Cayenne — A beautiful torbie (tabby with a splash of orange) girl with a little dash of spice and a whole lot of love. When Cayenne first arrived at the shelter, she was understandably scared and unsure of people. After everything she had been through, her “spicy” side was really just fear and uncertainty.Cayenne was heartbreakingly abandoned after her previous owner moved away, left behind to survive in deplorable conditions. During that difficult time, she lost weight and some of her fur, but despite it all, she has never lost her gentle spirit. Now that she’s safe and cared for, Cayenne has truly blossomed. She has become incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager for attention. She loves gentle pets, cozy places to nap, and simply being near people who make her feel secure. With patience, kindness, and a loving home, Cayenne will reward her person with endless affection and companionship. This resilient girl deserves a fresh start with someone who will never leave her behind again. Could you be the one to give Cayenne the safe, loving forever home she’s been waiting for?Adoption fee includes:✅ Spay/Neuter✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Cayenne?Email us at: adoption@columbiahumane.org to request an application.Adoption Fee: $175For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 21, 2026, 7:07 am
