Story
Meet the amazing Stitch! He was on a solo adventure when he was spotted and brought to the shelter on 1/27. Unfortunately, no one has come to reclaim him. Stitch is now on the search for a new forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe him as playful and energetic. He'll need an active family who will spend time playing fetch with him! Stitch would love to be someone's running/hiking buddy! We've also discovered Stitch is quite smart and already knows several commands including sit, shake, and lay down. Please make sure you have the patience and time to commit to a puppy. They're awfully cute, but they're also a lot of work! Stitch may need work on house-training and other basic manners. Stitch is 8 months old, and he weighs 50 lbs. He'll most likely be a medium-large sized dog when fully grown. Stitch is UTD on vaccines, and he has been neutered and microchipped. He will heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet this sweet boy in run 807; his ID # is 653274. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays. The shelter prefers people to make an appointment, go to - https://nqa3.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/as65fg9dr953 and select Adoption. You can also show up between 10:30 & 4:00 Tues. thru Sun. (shelter closes at 4:30), you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can help you. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip. When you book an appointment, it doesn't reserve a particular pet for you. Thank you for considering a Cobb pet!

Story
Lobo is such a lovable, gentle soul.  He absolutely loves other dogs and  people. Loyal and easy going, he's the perfect companion for humans and dogs. He is allergic to chicken as a protein in his food and is using fish as the main protein, he’s definitely gaining the weight he needs!    He is finding his voice and does do some barking.    He loves to play and has learned tug of war, both with humans & other dogs.    Lobo loves treats and to cuddle and gets so excited over everything.    We are still working on him not jumping on people, but still also trying to allow him to be a dog.    He may eat your food if it’s within his reach, but he has gotten a lot better at that (he was starved when we found him). Lobo does great on a leash (harness/leash) and enjoys walks.    He is a little anxious and still getting used to everything going on in the world.    He does get nervous in car rides and will pee, but we’re working on that, too.    He does great being left out (of the kennel) over night and so far, up to 5-6 hours, but also does great if he’s put in the kennel.    Lobo gets a little nervous at night when I open the back to door let them all pee before bed and sometimes will need you to walk out there with him while he does his thing (I think he was left outside before he was abandoned and afraid you’ll leave him out there).  He doesn't mind the rain, either! Lobo pays attention to what the other dogs do and follows suit!   He can eat at the same time, right next to the other dogs and they all respect each other’s boundaries.    He is great waiting in line for his treats, too!    He is good with baths and trimming his nails.   He can sit, lay down, & stay.  He is the perfect fit if you’re wanting another dog to keep your current dog company, without starting at the puppy phase.    He has great energy.  Age: 2 years WT:  41lbs. Temperament: Good with all people and dogs.   Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    Training: House trained, crate trained, knows a few commands,  For questions, please email hmlid14@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. February 23, 2024, 8:58 am

Story
Cookie is in love with life and she is constantly in motion, a little whirlwind of tiger stripes swirling around the shelter. At 5-months, she is joyful, bubbly and incredibly curious about everything. She peppers us with questions: What's in your pocket? Where is the sky? Why won't the squirrels let me sniff them? Cookie will grow big and strong, and she will need a human friend (or friends) to teach her and guide her. She'd love a home where playing is encouraged and she will be allowed to join in the fun. Cookie loves toys and would like to become a Master of Fetch one day. She's smart and wants to please you. We're learning more about her play style and likes, but she seems good with seeing other dogs around the shelter. Cookie is delightful, and she deserves every good thing in life.

Story
TAMALE is a young Plott Hound mix who strayed his way into Animal Control with his siblings, who have since been adopted. TAMLAE is VERY shy but loves being part of a pack. He has been slowly relaxing and learning to enjoy his human friends while in foster care so he needs someone who is patient and can allow him to adjust to a new environment on his own time. TAMALE currently weighs about 55 lbs and is estimated to be close to a year old. Please apply at www.buttsmutts.com to Adopt TAMALE. ##1638165##
