Story
Lily is a beautiful young Plott Hound/Mix. She&#39s estimated to be around 1yr old, and weighs 33lbs. This sweet girl ended up at an overcrowded Atlanta shelter after she was running around a trailer park in Conyers, GA with her sister (Millie) and they were both picked up as strays. They both ended up very sick, and were at risk for euthanasia list before BarkVille Dog Rescue stepped up for them. Lily is now completely healthy and is ready to find her forever family! Due to her past, she is a little shy and fearful until she gets to know you. She is friendly with other dogs, and is crate trained and house trained. Lily has a medium energy level. She is working on her leash manners, and is learning her basic commands. Lily would love a home that would continue to help her gain confidence, and work on her basic training. She would also do well in a home with another friendly dog. Lily is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet girl, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.October 11, 2024, 12:03 pm

Meet Obi!  Thanks to our great buddies at ATL Atlanta Lab Rescue - who also work tirelessly to help dogs that aren’t lab-ish at all - at tiny Upson County Animal Control ….OBI was saved. About a month ago they were on the euth list one day - ATL said they’d grab and save him and board him for us until we had a spot.  OBI means heart - and he’s got a special one - a bundle of brindle beauty- he’s truly striking and so smart. Obi looks very plott and catahoula and is around 6 months and 35 pounds (as of Sept 2024). Great with other dogs and pretty much everyone, he is ready to be cherished and find their forever family!   Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org   PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for all puppy adoptions ##2180310##

MANGO HAS A REDUCED ADOPTION FEE OF ONLY $50 THROUGH OCTOBER 15TH, THANKS TO THE BISSELL EMPTY THE SHELTERS ADOPTION EVENT. Meet Mango, a young dog with a heart full of love and a spirit bursting with energy. Her sweet, playful nature is contagious, and her goofy antics are sure to bring a smile to your face. Mango is not just fun, she's smart too. She's housetrained and has a curious mind that's always eager to learn. Mango is brave, unafraid of new experiences, and her friendly demeanor makes her a joy to be around. However, Mango is selective about her doggy friends, and she requires a home where her high energy can be channeled positively. With Mango, every day is an adventure. She's ready to fill a loving home with joy, laughter, and lots of tail wags. Her foster describes her as a "medium Velcro dog, meaning she wants to be around her people but won't follow you from room to room. She likes playing with other dogs after a slow introduction, but her social skills need work. She would do well with a tolerant dog sibling whop can help her learn to be more polite. Mango has a high activity level but will settle when her needs are met. She is very adept at escaping fences, but won't do so when she gets enough play time/exercise. Mango is approximately 2 years old (est. birth date 03/18/2022), weighs 50lbs, and her adoption fee is $175. Mango has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Mango, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Hi, my name is Kalina. I know that I am beautiful and a dog that when everybody sees my picture they will want to have me as their own. But you see, I lived a life without humans My entire life. I was just used to make babies. So many beautiful, beautiful babies. But I was never given love, affection, or touch, and I did not even get a minimal amount of attention. So I am not easy. I am not the dog that will come to you if you are looking at me. I will never let you reach down and rub my entire body, at least not until we have known each other for a while. I will barely get close enough for you to just feel my nose and give me a loving touch on my face. But if you give me a chance, I will make small strides. I don't know if I'll ever be that loving couch potato kind of dog. But I do surprise my fommy sometimes and get up on the couch when she's not paying attention and snuggle at her feet. But if you move, I'll move.  I will sneak up on you and boop your butt when you're doing dishes. I will bark at you when I want to come in the house and probably even make you leave the house so that I can come in the house. It will take me a while to take treats from your hand. But I will do it eventually. I need time and slow movements—more time than most. I need someone to build a routine with me. Someone who understands that is who I need. From her Fommy: Understanding that this dog is not a typical dog is so important. As her Foster, it took me months before she would even allow me into the same room with her. We have been together for eight months now, and she's still only coming to the room with me if I'm not looking at her. She loves her crate. She walks right into it as long as I'm not in the path and have my back to her. I tell you this just so you understand how special she is.  Even though she is so standoffish, I know that she loves me with everything that she has. But when she presents her love, it doesn't look like a typical kind of love from any other dog. And this girl needs somebody that's willing to accept that.  She will absolutely require another dog in her household because that is what helps her thrive and to show her safety. She will absolutely need a crate in her home because that is her safe spot. And a fenced-in yard is definitely a must because she is a flight risk. She does not know how to walk on leash and I don't know if she ever will be able to. The real world is just very scary for her. When I take her out she is on multiple leashes and that is just to get her from the house to the car. That being said, I also think a farm environment would work for her. As long as it's not near big roads. You would still need to work with her first to get her comfortable. And she needs another dog to help her with that. But if you give her a nice picnic table to sunbathe on, she will be ever so happy. When it comes down to it, she's a very loyal dog to her property and people.  She's amazing with dogs and children, although with dogs, she can be annoyingly in their face/muzzle area for a long time. And with children, she is very easily startled, so I would say older children. A calm/laid-back home would be ideal.  She is an amazingly sweet, perfect dog, but she's not your typical dog. You are never going to make her into what you want. You just have to be okay with becoming who she needs. If you're up for that task, please inquire for this girl  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          October 10, 2024, 12:26 pm
