Story
Meet Vegas! Vegas is a sweet, calm, and gentle puppy who is learning that the world is a pretty wonderful place! He came to his foster home feeling very scared, but he has made amazing progress and really blossomed once he discovered the joy of having a doggy friend. Vegas LOVES other dogs! He enjoys playing tag, wrestling, running and romping around the yard, and following the lead of his canine buddies. Having another friendly, playful dog in his forever home would be wonderful for him. He has even remained completely non-reactive around a dog who sometimes barks or growls at him—Vegas simply ignores it and goes about his business. When playtime is over, Vegas is just as happy to curl up and relax. He loves chewing on toys and balls, but he also loves sleeping, hanging out with his people, and watching TV. He doesn't need to be on the go all the time—he simply wants to be near his people or another dog and be part of the family. Vegas is completely crate trained and happily goes into his crate for meals. With a little encouragement, he settles in for bedtime, and he doesn't whine or bark in his crate. Vegas enjoys learning new skills and will love any classes. Vegas has been friendly with everyone he has met—both people and dogs. He has shown no resource guarding and is perfectly comfortable sharing his toys, food, and space. One thing his forever family should know: Vegas is a big leaner! He loves being close to his people and may lean against you while walking or get underfoot, so a home without mobility concerns would be the best fit. Vegas is ready to trade his foster home for a forever family where he can have a doggy best friend, a comfy place to nap, a yard to romp in, and people who love having a sweet shadow by their side. Story
Spencer is a 9-month-old, approximately 50-pound mixed-breed pup with a big heart, a goofy personality, and tons of potential. He’s smart, food-motivated, affectionate, and the kind of dog who genuinely wants to learn, work, and have a purpose. He is fully potty trained and will let his foster family know he needs to go out by crying at the door. At night, he sleeps peacefully on his dog bed in the bedroom and is happy to settle in for the night. During the day, he is comfortable spending 6–8 hours in his kennel when needed. He also does not get on the furniture and is perfectly content having his own cozy spot. Spencer is an active young dog who benefits from two good walks a day and loves getting out to explore. His leash skills are improving, although squirrels and bunnies are still very exciting! One of Spencer's best qualities is how smart and eager to please he is. He is extremely food motivated and loves learning new things. He knows sit and down and is working on come and place. Because of his intelligence and working-dog personality, he would thrive with an adopter who enjoys training and is willing to continue working with him. Training classes would be a great way to help him continue building good manners and a strong bond with his person. An adopter with previous dog experience would be ideal. Spencer enjoys playing with other dogs and can have a great time with a canine playmate. He tends to meet other dogs best when introductions happen off leash. His foster family is mindful about high-value food and toys around other dogs, so continued supervision and management will be important. For all his energy, Spence has a wonderfully affectionate side. He loves people and is very happy to snuggle when invited. His signature move is giving “hugs” by leaning his entire body into you for some extra love. He has been around children ages 2–12 and has done well with them. Spence also makes a great adventure buddy! He loves walks, car rides, exploring, toys, and playing in the water. Spence is looking for someone who will appreciate his intelligence and working-dog personality and give him the exercise, structure, training, and purpose he needs to thrive. In return, you'll get a loving, goofy, loyal companion who wants to learn alongside you and be part of your life. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate young dog who is ready to keep learning and become your best adventure buddy, Spence may be your guy! If you would like to meet Spencer, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Hi! My name is Naomi, and I am from Alabama! I’m a super playful and affectionate little pup who loves being close to my humans. When you’re working, I’m happiest curled up quietly beside you, just keeping you company. I’m a smart girl and already learned how to use a pee pad (though I do prefer the bigger ones, please!). I’m still figuring out this whole “pottying outside” thing, but I’m trying my best. Speaking of outside — I love it. There are so many amazing smells, sounds, and sights to explore. One of my favorite games is burying my nose deep into the grass like I’m searching for hidden treasure. My foster mom laughs and calls me her little fox. I’m still easily distracted on walks, but I’m working hard on my leash manners. I’ve already mastered walking on a loose leash… unless I spot something especially exciting that just has to be investigated. I love everyone I meet because, to me, strangers are just friends I haven’t met yet. Sometimes I’ll gently wrap my paws around someone’s hand to convince them to stay with me forever. I’m still learning proper greetings, though — I just get so excited to say hello that I occasionally forget my mouth can hurt. I adore playing with my toys, especially when you join in the fun. Every now and then I forget that not everything is a toy, but I’m working on it, I promise. I’m also teething, so plenty of chew toys will help keep me happy. I am very food-motivated, eager and determined when focused on a task. I have already learned clicker training to sit, shake, lie down, give hand kisses, and target on command within just a few days. At bedtime, I’m a total pro sleeper as long as you’re nearby. Having my people close makes me feel safe and cozy. Oh, and one more thing: my fur is incredibly soft, and with my big ears, I look just like a tiny little elf 🧚‍♀️

Men are from Mars :0 Remember that theory? Men from Mars and women from Venus?? So I AM MARS!! lol and I am a male!! SO MISUNDERSTOOD!! (all women rolling their eyes :) I am a big puppy... At the rescue again after being adopted in 2020!! :( I was returned by my "family" for something the rescue did before i left as a puppy- socialize me... SO, this is the thing... when you adopt a puppy especially, take the time to SOCIALIZE them all different situations and all different people and other animals.... it is your responsibility. WE committed to Mars so if his "family" gave up on him, we would not! He is back with the rescue and looking for his FOREVER HOME! Do NOT apply to adopt him if you are not committed to him, cause he deserves better!! He is a sweet and loving guy, active and BIG so must be a good leader and must keep him happy and exercised and loved!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Hello there, sorry for the wait ... My name is Doc and I'm here to see YOU actually! Let's see now, you say you're experiencing the lack of a fun loving companion dog in your life? You need to get out and go on walks more? And you say here that you have a huge backyard but no one to play in it with? These symptoms lead me to believe you're suffering from INAD syndrome ... also known as "I need a dog disease." and we have JUST the cure for you!!! I am a DOC :) Well, I think I can prescribe you something that'll help reduce these symptoms and get you back on track to healthy living.... here is what one of my admirers has to say about me ;) "Doc is a super playful dude and is soo happy to meet everyone he sees and just is an overall bouncing bundle of joy. He loves walks, pets and scratches, and loves to do sprints with you. When you're walking he will walk slightly ahead of you and is super excited to meet everyone. He'll try to pull but once he realizes you are not coming too fast he will do this cute little hop thing where he bounces between his front paws and his back paws, its adorable" That is quite an admirer, right??? If you'll just go ahead and sign here on my adoption papers, we can get started right now on your treatment!! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
