You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ander and his sister Kami were found as strays and taken to a high kill shelter in West Texas. My foster mom chronicles my antics.... i am a very large ploppy, derpy puppy she says. I am kennel and potty trained. I love to explore with my nose and my two front paws. I am good on a leash, but can get excited when I see another dog because I love them all. My favorite things are going for a run and romp... then coming in and chewing on a beef cheek roll or a beef bone my foster momma gives me. I love toys... all toys, but love my stuffies the best. I am very quiet... much unlike what people think when they hear the breed 'hound'. I am looking for a forever family...a family that will take me on adventures and be active with me. I want to be all involved in absolutely everything. DId I tell you that I am LARGE?? Yes, my foster momma thinks I am about 80 or so pounds. That is tiny, right? But fate smiled upon me, and a kind-hearted man and his family came to my rescue, sparing me from the freezing cold. I'll be honest; I'm a sensitive soul. Loud voices and sudden noises tend to rattle me, but let me tell you, once I've warmed up to you, I'm a different dog entirely. I'll shower you with kisses and share my whole heart. You see, I'm not just pretty on the outside; I'm smart and gentle, too. What I need most is a patient family willing to give me the time and space to settle into my new home. Trust me; I have so much love to give. In my foster home, they've discovered a side of me that shines when I play with their Big Great Pyrenees. We're like a couple of kids, playing hide and seek, and chasing each other around. I'm also a sunbather at heart, so outdoor lounging in the sun is a favorite pastime of mine. Now, here's the thing: I'm not a fan of long car rides, and I can get a little nervous. But if you speak to me gently and reassure me, I'll find my courage. Leash walks can be a bit tricky too, but with your patience and encouragement, I'm willing to give it a try. In the evenings, I like to cozy up in bed with my humans, though I don't demand it. Have you ever read a novel that has so many twist and turns that by the time you get to the last chapter, you have NO idea who won and who is the REAL good guy?? Well, I believe my life is like that. I came from somewhere, no one really knows where, and I ended up at the pound, somehow.... So i was actually adopted as a cute puppy from the pound..... and THEN 5 months later... I was saved at a busy intersection with a badly injured back leg.... no "family" around :( SO, luckily I was saved by a RESCUER!!! I mean, what are the odds?? So my name is Artie and now I am healed up and looking for my furever REAL family. I am a great sized pup, 30# of fun and love and all kinds of playtime! I love to run and play, tug of war and keep away I excel at and the zoomies too! I am great with other dogs, and kids and am ok with cats but require a good introduction and experienced dog/cat introducer with monitoring as I may chase a kittie if it runs. Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.

Let me introduce Chance, one of the coolest dogs in our rescue! His foster mother has medical issues, and she wants him to find his furever home ASAP! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods, alone in the middle of nowhere, when he was still a puppy – scared and left to die young. He is extremely sweet. Chance loves toys and playing fetch - playtime is high on his wish list. He is very friendly, never meets a stranger, and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there are cuddles and belly rubs. His leash walking is progressing well. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introduced. He will be happiest as a loving family companion. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We'll transport to a destination near you every weekend, alternating between the Northeast and the Great Lakes.
