We adopted Kirby 5 years ago, and since then, our life circumstance has changed. We have a 1 year old and another child on the way and although we have tried, we cannot provide a healthy household for both pet and child. Kirby is loyal and energetic. He loves walks, responds to commands, and is generally low maintenance. He would be perfect for an active, fun-loving household!

Hi, my name is Denver Rose and I am from Minnesota. This lovely brindle pup, Denver, is a true beauty. Her deep brown soulful eyes will melt your heart. Denver loves people, of all shapes and sizes, sometimes a bit too much. You may be the unlucky recipient of a minor shark bite from her nipping at fingers and toes! We are working on redirecting those behaviors. Slow introductions and monitoring should be done with smaller children as she gets a bit mouthy and jumpy with them (and sometimes adults). Denver finds cats very interesting and would like to know what they are about, so she'd do best in a home where her curiosity can't be tempted. She loves to play, loves to eat even more and it’s a hoot to give her new foods to try to see what she likes (who knew baked potatoes and cucumbers would be a hit!). She’s a hungry hippo for sure! Denver sleeps in a kennel all night long, keeps it clean and is potty trained (on a schedule). During the day, if kenneled, she protests a teeny tiny bit if she knows you are home. If you are gone, nap time for her and she’s settles right down. She’s super smart and loves treats, so training and improving behaviors should be a breeze, if she has longer stays and consistency in a home (rather than temp fosters). She LOVES squeak toys and bones and will play tug of war with you all day long. Denver is generally a quiet dog, hardly ever barks and just likes being near her people. I feel like she could be a good apartment dog, given proper exercise. She can be a strong puller on a leash. Denver will be a great addition to any family. She is a snuggle bug, cute and funny. I think she would be fine being a solo dog in a home. I’m not sure how she is with cats at all.

Hi there! My name is Alicia and I'm a 2-year girl that weighs about 40 pounds. I have the same name as my foster mom, so they call me Aurora. I am, without a doubt, the sweetest pup in the world - everyone tells me so! I love to meet new friends and give them hugs, kisses, and snuggles. I’ve met many dogs (15-100 pounds) and have done fantastic with them all. I love to wrestle and play tug-of-war with my furry friends and I’d absolutely love to have a fur sibling in my future home. Confident, dog-savvy cats would be okay too, although I might chase them a little at first. What else is there to know about me? Oh yeah, I’m completely potty, leash, kennel, and house trained! More than almost anything in the world, I love stuffed animals!! I could play with them all day. Sunbathing outside and chasing tennis balls are my favorite activities. Something important to know about me is that I have bilateral hip dysplasia. Some dogs need FHO surgery, whereas others can manage the pain with just medication. Since I’m still young, it’s unclear if I will need surgery in the future but it’s definitely possible. For me to stay healthy, my future family must commit to the following: 1) keeping me lean and active with low-impact exercise such as walks; 2) continuing to feed me a prescription mobility diet such as Hill's j/d; and 3) giving me a joint supplement like Dasuqin. If I'm too active, I will limp or walk slowly; my foster mom manages my pain with an anti-inflammatory. Because of this, I'd do best with a canine friend that takes breaks and doesn't play to rough - that way I don't overexert myself. I know this might sound like a lot of work, but I promise I'm worth it! I'm a super affectionate and loving dog that is so grateful for a second chance in life.
