Story
Meet Nikki!  Plott Hound About 2 years old  Around 50 lbs Floppiest ears around Nikki is such a sweet girl with a beautiful black and tan brindle coat. Coming from an outdoor shelter, Nikki didn’t get the chance to learn about the luxury of a fluffy dog bed. With a little bit of guidance and patience, Nikki is learning it’s okay to take a nap and relax instead of walking around or constantly chewing on her toys (don’t worry she still love to chomp on all her stuffed animals). Once she does settle, she is the cutest little snuggle bug.  She does awesome in a crate and takes her time coming out once the door is open.  We are working hard to help keep her house trained with a solid routine. She may have one of the strongest bladders her foster mom has ever seen. She is a smart little girl and is learning to come, sit, and stay. Her treat of choice is cheese! Nikki is still young and has some puppy tendencies and energy. She would do great in a house that is ready to support her active lifestyle.  Nikki is currently in a foster home where she is learning her limits with a cat. She gets very excited and can be overwhelming to the cat when she sees him. We do think Nikki would do great in a home with another dog to learn and play with! Nikki is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.  She will be available for adoption on or after 7/13 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144, KL 16182 ##2454415##

Story
Meet Poppy! This sweet girl is 9 years old, about 85 pounds, and unfortunately needs a new home. She loves playing with toys, playing tug, being near her people, and running around chasing things. Due to an anxious startle response she would do best in a home without young kids. If you are looking for a new companion and have some skill and experience with anxious dogs in the right environment, please message me.

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 44 lbs Age 5 months as of 5/18         Georgia is sweet girl who gets very attached to her person and gets along fine with other dogs and cats. She is timid around new people but is getting much better. Once she gets to know you, she just loves to be with her person. She follows her Foster Mom around, tailwagging, she is loving and affectionate. She won’t run off, she just loves to be near her Foster Mom and gives her kisses. Georgia is also very smart. She quickly learned to sit and touch and responds to leave it.    Georgia and her three sisters were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi as young puppies, an all too common occurrence in the South. The three girls settled in well at the  the rescue, romping with the other dogs and snuggling into a big puppy pile to nap! They were spayed and given their vaccinations and Georgia made the trip up from Mississippi to her new foster home and immediately bonded with her foster brother and her foster mom and dad.      The puppies all seem to be mixes of Shepherd and plot hound, Georgia has a beautiful brindle coat and gentle, soulful eyes.       Georgia is doing well with house breaking and loves toys and bones. She  sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of her foster mom’s bed.     Like any puppy Georgia needs a family who will spend time with her and give her the attention and training that she needs to grow up to be the very good girl we know she can be. Georgia will make a wonderful family dog.     Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Georgia  or any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    May 10, 2025, 5:40 pm

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 34 lbs Age 7 months as of 5/24           Sweet  Gretel and her three sisters were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi, an all too common occurrence. She  appears to be a plott hound mix, maybe with some  Catahoula leopard, she is on the smaller side of a medium size pup.       Gretel is a doll, super loving and friendly, she just loves to follow her foster mom in Mississippi all over the rescue. If she’s not, she’s playing and romping with the other dogs at Wags and then snuggling in a puppy pile to nap.    Gretel has been spayed and has her vaccinations. She is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue will need some training while she adjusts to a new environment.    Gretel would love to catch the next transport from Tupelo to the northeast! There is a transport truck leaving the weekend after Memorial Day and we’d love to see Gretel on it, ready to go to a loving home of her very own. We know she will make a wonderful and snuggly member of the family.        Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue.
