Story
Meet handsome Lamar....this 2.5 year old plott hound/lab mix is 72 pounds of sweetness! He was picked up as a stray in St Thomas in February 2022 and spent months in the shelter where he shut down, not wanting to eat, walk or play. Neil, a volunteer at the shelter, fostered him and loved him until Neil left the island to work stateside. Instead of placing Lamar back in the shelter, the Pets With Wings Program brought him to Pet Search! Lamar loves other dogs and will thrive with a fur-sibling or two! and once he becomes comfortable, he will join and play, almost to the point of exhaustion! Lamar is very skittish when first meeting people and will bark out of anxiety, and will back away. After several weeks in foster care, he is warming up to his foster parents. Lamar needs time to adjust to new surroundings and will have accidents while feeling comfortable. He loves to sleep in bed or on a sofa, but is crate trained also. Lamar has shown no reactiveness to cats and would be a great playmate for older children due to his size and weight. Applications can he found at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog KL#03301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Men are from Mars :0 Remember that theory? Men from Mars and women from Venus?? So I AM MARS!! lol and I am a male!! SO MISUNDERSTOOD!! (all women rolling their eyes :) I am a big puppy... At the rescue again after being adopted in 2020!! :( I was returned by my "family" for something the rescue did before i left as a puppy- socialize me... SO, this is the thing... when you adopt a puppy especially, take the time to SOCIALIZE them all different situations and all different people and other animals.... it is your responsibility. WE committed to Mars so if his "family" gave up on him, we would not! He is back with the rescue and looking for his FOREVER HOME! Do NOT apply to adopt him if you are not committed to him, cause he deserves better!! He is a sweet and loving guy, active and BIG so must be a good leader and must keep him happy and exercised and loved!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Daisy! 🌼🐾 Daisy is the kind of girl who will steal your heart without even trying. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and just plain fun to have around! Daisy came to us with her puppies and was the most devoted mama, but now that her babies are grown, it’s finally Daisy’s turn to be spoiled! This girl has discovered that toys are pretty awesome—especially stuffies! Daisy loves to grab her favorite stuffy, toss it up in the air, chase it down, and entertain herself with it. Watching her play is guaranteed to make you smile! Daisy is great with other dogs and kids and walks nicely on a leash. She can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but give her a little time (and maybe a few treats), and her sweet personality shines through. She’s gentle, playful, affectionate, and ready to enjoy life as someone's beloved companion instead of always being the mama. Daisy has given so much love to everyone around her. Now she’s ready for a family who will give all that love back! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Hello there, sorry for the wait ... My name is Doc and I'm here to see YOU actually! Let's see now, you say you're experiencing the lack of a fun loving companion dog in your life? You need to get out and go on walks more? And you say here that you have a huge backyard but no one to play in it with? These symptoms lead me to believe you're suffering from INAD syndrome ... also known as "I need a dog disease." and we have JUST the cure for you!!! I am a DOC :) Well, I think I can prescribe you something that'll help reduce these symptoms and get you back on track to healthy living.... here is what one of my admirers has to say about me ;) "Doc is a super playful dude and is soo happy to meet everyone he sees and just is an overall bouncing bundle of joy. He loves walks, pets and scratches, and loves to do sprints with you. When you're walking he will walk slightly ahead of you and is super excited to meet everyone. He'll try to pull but once he realizes you are not coming too fast he will do this cute little hop thing where he bounces between his front paws and his back paws, its adorable" That is quite an admirer, right??? If you'll just go ahead and sign here on my adoption papers, we can get started right now on your treatment!! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Floyd: Your Future Best Friend & Sofa Companion!   "Hi, I’m Floyd! Now that we’ve officially met, can I steal your heart? Like, right now—pretty please?"   After spending nearly a year in shelters and boarding, Floyd is soaking up every single second of home life. His foster family says he is hands-down the most loyal and appreciative pup they have ever cared for. He’s so grateful for a warm, soft place to land, and he’s ready to find the forever home where he can shower his human with endless love and appreciation.   All About Floyd:  Breed & Age: Plott Hound Mix | ~4.5 to 5 years old  Health & Status: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and fully house-trained.  Personality: Laid-back, eager to please, and affectionate. He loves visitors and is an excellent host when company comes over!  Home Alone Champ: Independent and trustworthy when you need to head out for work or errands.  Smart & Easy to Train: Thanks to some great work with his trainer, and his foster Mindy - Floyd is showing off his smarts! He’s already mastered sit, stay, and give paw—especially when treats are involved.   The Ideal Home Setup: As a classic hound, Floyd loves taking in all the outdoor smells. While a fenced yard would be a fun bonus for exploring, it’s not required—Floyd is just as happy chilling on the couch with you as long as the head scratches keep coming.    Pet Requirements: Floyd needs to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all your love as the star of the show.  Family Setup: Floyd is looking for an adults-only home (no young kids). He’d make the ultimate loyal protector for a single owner or a wonderful "third wheel" companion for a couple!   Whether you’re looking for an outdoor exploring buddy or a cozy couch potato, Floyd seamlessly adapts to whatever your day holds. If you’re ready to offer a soft spot, frequent pets, and a forever promise, Floyd is ready to meet you!   ##2243697##

He’s affectionate, social, goofy, and happiest when he gets to be right there with his humans. Georgie loves running around, playing with other dogs, his squeaky toys and splashing in the water — but his favorite thing is simply being included. He’s house and crate trained, great with kids, dog friendly, indifferent to cats, and rides well in the car. Story
Maple (10/1/24) is a sweet gentle hound mix that sea a stray brought through Animal Control Services in Washington County. Maple is around 45 pounds, approximately 2 years old and was quite frightened when she was found. Since arriving to her foster home, we have learned a lot about Maple… 🐾 She has had several litters of puppies 🐾 She was fearful of men and strangers approaching her 🐾 She likes other dogs as long as they respect her space. Maple has been 4 dx tested, vaccinated and microchipped. She is scheduled for her spay in a few weeks. Maple loves kids and we will be testing her with cats soon. She is housebroken and now crate trained. This little lady deserves a home where she can be spoiled and receive the love she so deserves. Once a dog that has a tail between her legs is now a happy girl who wags her tail and wiggles her body for her foster parents. She will continue to learn trust and will make a wonderful addition to a family. Apply for Maple at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog Pet Search KL #3301 Washington PA 15301
