Story
Meet Tilly, she's a bit quirky at first but let me tell you about how amazing she is if you give her a little time to get to know you. She's a cuddle bug and loves to sleep right next to you at night. When you come home, Tilly is so excited her wiggle butt makes her whole body shake side to side. She's crate trained, housebroken, plays well with other dogs, and great on walks. She knows sit, down, stay and her release word. Loves to carry a stuffed animal around with her, she will need a few as some will not last very long. Tilly loves to chew on empty water bottles she steals from her foster sister. She signals at the back door to let you know she needs to potty and will sunbathe outside when you let her. The quirky, she needs time to get to know you. She is nervous around new people. Will need a slow intro to her new family with older kids. Tilly doesn't like fast movements when she is anxious until she finally warms up to you. Tilly is a local adoption only. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

I'm gonna make you an wo-offer you can't refuse. That's what Pacino told his foster parents when he was found and brought to San Antonio, TX for a better life! For his well-behaved demeanor, cute puppy face, playfulness, and getting along with other dogs he'd be given a roof, a nice cold dish of water, meals and treats everyday, plus tons of love. It was a good deal! Pacino comes from a long line of Dog-Father's, tough dogs out in the world who's business is their own. But, they are loyal, loving and strong characters to have around you. Pacino is potty and crate trainee; and a sociable happy dog! He does like to chew on things and should be kept away from shoes, tables and what not. Pacino would pair better with older kids. Some basic information about Pacino; he is 2-year(s) old, male, a Plott Hound mix, and is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Home, home on the range-r! Ok, that is not how the song goes, but I still think the song is about me! I am Ranger and I am in need of a home! Get it? I am a cool, Plott Hound mix, and a large (about 70#) boy looking for my forever family! Plott hounds are smart and active dogs, even though I am now an adult dog, I still take after my breed and love to have athletic challenges and play time. I know I will be someone's ride or die!!! If you have longed for a big, stunning dog then I am your guy! I will make some active individual, couple or full blown family one GREAT addition! But don't wait long... I will be adopted very very quickly! ***Ranger is very large, strong and energetic. MUST have a house and fenced yard and active family as well as strong leadership. No apartments or townhouses.*** Ranger has the loving heart of a warrior and would love to be your running partner or biking or camping or hiking or traveling or just wandering around- he is IDEAL for your active lifestyle! Story
Let it go, let it gooooooo ...Can't hold it back anymore ... Yes, my name is Elsa, just like that Elsa! I came into this world in February, right in the middle of a chilly San Antonio winter when the temps were plummeting, and life was tough for many. But fate smiled upon me, and a kind-hearted man and his family came to my rescue, sparing me from the freezing cold. I'll be honest; I'm a sensitive soul. Loud voices and sudden noises tend to rattle me, but let me tell you, once I've warmed up to you, I'm a different dog entirely. I'll shower you with kisses and share my whole heart. You see, I'm not just pretty on the outside; I'm smart and gentle, too. What I need most is a patient family willing to give me the time and space to settle into my new home. Trust me; I have so much love to give. In my foster home, they've discovered a side of me that shines when I play with their Big Great Pyrenees. We're like a couple of kids, playing hide and seek, and chasing each other around. I'm also a sunbather at heart, so outdoor lounging in the sun is a favorite pastime of mine. Now, here's the thing: I'm not a fan of long car rides, and I can get a little nervous. But if you speak to me gently and reassure me, I'll find my courage. Leash walks can be a bit tricky too, but with your patience and encouragement, I'm willing to give it a try. In the evenings, I like to cozy up in bed with my humans, though I don't demand it. I just love to be near the ones who care for me. I'm on the lookout for a forever home, a place where I'll be cherished and appreciated just as much as I have been in my foster family. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's ready to bloom with your love, look no further - I'm right here. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

I am currently fostering Chapo with his bonded friend, Blacky. I would really like them to be adopted together, as their bond is strong and they have been on a long journey together. Both boys were saved from the euthanasia list in San Antonio, Texas. Chapo lived his life outside prior to arriving at my home, so he is working on potty training, but is making wonderful progress. He is learning how to be a dog and trust humans. Reluctant to trust at first, he is really coming out of his shell. He loves treats, gets along with other dogs, and does well with children also. He deserves the best life with someone who will spoil him and his best friend, Blacky.

Story
Meet handsome Lamar....this 2.5 year old plott hound/lab mix is 72 pounds of sweetness! He was picked up as a stray in St Thomas in February 2022 and spent months in the shelter where he shut down, not wanting to eat, walk or play. Neil, a volunteer at the shelter, fostered him and loved him until Neil left the island to work stateside. Instead of placing Lamar back in the shelter, the Pets With Wings Program brought him to Pet Search! Lamar loves other dogs and will thrive with a fur-sibling or two! and once he becomes comfortable, he will join and play, almost to the point of exhaustion! Lamar is very skittish when first meeting people and will bark out of anxiety, and will back away. After several weeks in foster care, he is warming up to his foster parents. Lamar needs time to adjust to new surroundings and will have accidents while feeling comfortable. He loves to sleep in bed or on a sofa, but is crate trained also. Lamar has shown no reactiveness to cats and would be a great playmate for older children due to his size and weight. Applications can he found at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog

Story
Introducing Cricket!! Cricket is an approximately 2 year-old petite Plott Hound mix weighing in at 38 pounds. Cricket spent over a year in an outdoor shelter, but now has a new leash on life living outside those walls with her foster family. When she first got out of the shelter, she was a scared pup—hiding behind the couch and under the table, not sure what to think of her new digs. Fast forward to today and she is as spunky as ever, zipping around the house with her fur and human siblings and playing with ALL of the toys. There is no favorite toy of hers—they all are! To sum up Cricket’s personality—she is spunky, goofy, playful, and energetic. She gets along well with all of her fur siblings as well as human siblings. We are not sure how she will do with cats as her foster home does not have any. Cricket is a very smart girl and is very food motivated. She is doing great on a leash and is house and crate trained. She is learning tricks like to sit and give paw. Cricket would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced in yard where she can run and stretch her long legs. We would highly recommend her new home have another dog to continue help her gain confidence in being an inside dog. Cricket is up to date on all required vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Cricket will be available for adoption with Paws Across Pittsburgh on or after 3/10/2024. KL# 16182 ##1991589##

Story
Meet Percy! Along with his five adorable siblings and their charming hound mother, Pippa, Percy is excited to find a loving home. At 12 weeks old and weighing 14 pounds he has a gorgeous brindle coat. Percy is diligently working on his crate and potty training, showing improvements daily. He's comfortable sleeping alone in his crate at night and enjoys spending time with the fosters four-year-old son under close supervision, as he's still learning to curb his puppy play-biting. Percy loves to play with his sister Phoenix, who is also looking for a forever home. He hasn't had the chance to meet any cats yet. When sleepy, Percy loves to snuggle up by your legs and adores being petted. He's also a quick learner, picking up commands like 'sit', 'down', 'come', and 'crate' with great enthusiasm, thanks to his food motivation. He will most likely grow to be a medium size dog when fully grown. Percy has been neutered and microchipped, and he's up to date with his age-appropriate vaccinations. He's also been treated with flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. Ready for adoption from Paws Across Pittsburgh in Springdale, PA on or after April 21st, 2024, Percy is just waiting to bring joy and puppy love to your home! Story
Meet Pixie, a 12-week old Plott hound mix! Her mom is 40 pounds, but she’s a bit of a chonk at 18 pounds already. Pixie is highly food motivated and picks up tricks pretty quickly. She loves zooming around the fenced in yard and needs another dog to wrestle. She also loves toys and snuffle mats to work out that hound nose. There are two cats in the foster home, and Pixie is curious about them though she gives them their space. She is great at going potty outside on command but still working on only going outside. She’s also learning how to not say thank you with her teeth. Her favorite place to nap is in her crate cuddled up to her sister though there may be some crying at first when the door is closed. She’s still working on being crated during the day but has been sleeping through the night in the crate with no accidents.      ##2021656##

Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures.
