Meet Victorino❤️ This handsome boy will be traveling all the way from Puerto Rico in search of something every dog deserves... a family to call his own. At just 4 months old and about 23 pounds, he is the perfect age to begin his next adventure. Old enough to start learning good manners, young enough to grow up alongside a forever family.  He is curious about the world, eager to learn, and ready to trade shelter life for soft beds, toys, belly rubs, and family adventures. Like all puppies, he will need patience, consistency, and continued training as he grows. The time you invest now will be rewarded with years of love, loyalty, and companionship. Every adoption gives a rescued Puerto Rican puppy the future they deserve while opening space to save another dog in need. Story
Hunter is a 6 month old puppy, and around 30lbs. He loves to play with his people and other dogs. His favorite toys so far have been the flirt pole, tennis ball, and anything that squeaks! He also is a big fan of slow paced bike rides ( short and slow while he’s young ) one of his fosters favorite pastimes!    Hunter is a pretty chill puppy who would thrive with someone who could put time into his training and socialization. Chill doesn’t mean he doesn’t require exercise, so don’t be fooled he can run and run and run like every other puppy. Hunter is a little shy when it comes to new things, so a slow introduction is the best but he loves kids of all ages and dogs of all ages and temperaments.    He is not a huge fan of men yet but he is meeting new men with his foster and trying his hardest to get out of his shell.    He is still learning commands with “come” being his favorite and best command. His potty training is going great with his current foster but will require frequent potty break outside. Currently his potty breaks are monitored so we can make sure he goes before coming back in the house!    Hunter will come with two free lessons from our trainer Rachel Gilpin with AEG K9 Academy, who is also his current foster.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Name: Luke Age: approx 5 years old Weight: 70 pounds Color: black/brown Breed: Black and Tan Coonhound Vaccines: up to date Altered: yes Heartworm Status: negative and on prevention Energy Level: average House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Dog friendly: has been selective with others for no apparent reason therefore suggested to be the only dog. He has not shown reactivity on walks or meeting with other dogs while out and about Cat friendly: yes Kid friendly: has been around several young kiddos but recommending 10 years+ due to his size and working on a recent resource guarding issue Temperament: laid back, gentle, loving, gives kisses Adoption fee: 275 Available for adoption anywhere in the US and Canada with transport provided at no extra cost Currently located in Chesapeake VA Application link: http://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/VACC/Dog This guy is not only down right adorable but extremely handsome. He is an old fashioned B&T, big thick legs, huge ears, and the extra skin that makes you want to kiss him constantly. He came to one of our local shelters as a stray and went unclaimed. He LOVES his toys and will mostly be seen carrying one around. He is so gentle and loving and great in new environments with new people. Luke completed over a month long board and train program to help with dog selectiveness and start a base line of obedience. He then went to a local home and did amazing but unfortunately had to be returned due to a toy guarding incident and there were young children in the home. All details will be provided to any potential adopter, these folks were heartbroken to return him as they really loved havinf his goofy self around. In the week he stayed with them he also had several dogs around him without any issue (but we still recommend him being the only dog in the home)
