Story
Maggie is a beautiful 3-year-old Plott Hound mix who has come such a long way and is truly starting to shine. She is a loving, affectionate girl who bonds closely with her people and has recently become even more cuddly in foster. Maggie will happily seek you out for attention and, when invited, will come over for kisses and wrap her paws around you in the sweetest way. Maggie enjoys spending time outside, soaking up the sun, watching birds, and exploring the yard. She has done well with off-leash time in a secure space and will return to the door when she’s ready to come back inside. She also has a playful side and enjoys chasing sticks and engaging with her people. She is currently gaining confidence and working on her manners, including leash skills and polite interactions with other dogs. Maggie has done well being around other dogs in a structured environment and would benefit from continued slow, thoughtful introductions. Maggie is house trained and crate trained, and she settles nicely in her space while still enjoying being part of the household. Because of her strong prey drive, Maggie is not a good fit for homes with cats or small animals. Maggie is a smart, strong girl who will thrive with an experienced owner who can appreciate her personality and continue helping her grow. She has already made great progress and continues to improve every day. If you would like to learn more about Maggie or arrange a meeting, please contact adoptpetersburg@gmail.com

Story
Meet Tinkerbell 1.5-year-old Lab/Hound mix | Approximately 50 lbs Tinkerbell is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. This beautiful young girl may be a little shy when meeting new people, but underneath that timid start is a sweet, loving companion just waiting to feel safe. Give her a little patience, a gentle walk, and maybe a few tasty treats, and you’ll quickly see her warm up and let her personality shine. Once she trusts you, Tinkerbell becomes incredibly affectionate and loyal. She’s very treat-motivated, which makes bonding with her fun and rewarding — and she’s eager to continue learning with someone who will guide her with kindness and consistency. Tinkerbell previously lived successfully with another dog and a cat, and did well with both. She would likely thrive in a calm, loving home that can help continue building her confidence. Sweet and gentle personality Loyal once she feels comfortable Has lived well with dogs and cats Smart and motivated to learn Absolutely gorgeous inside and out She’s still working on house training, but she has already shown that with routine and regular potty breaks, she does very well. Like many young dogs adjusting to change, she just needs patience and consistency to keep succeeding. Tinkerbell came to the shelter alongside her brother Leo, and while this transition has been a big adjustment for her, she’s already showing us how much love she has to give. If you’re looking for a dog who will blossom into an incredibly devoted best friend, Tinkerbell may be the perfect match for you. Come meet her — you might just fall in love the moment you see her sweet face.
