Meet Dulce!This little lady is so sweet that she'll give you cavities. There are less longing, yearning glances exchanged in Bridgerton than there are between Dulce and, like, everyone she meets. Dulce is rainbows and heart eyes and sunshine and wants to spend her days just gazing into your eyes lovingly while you scratch her ears and tell her she's the best girl in the whole world.Dulce is an eight year old Podengo and she weighs around 36lbs. She's a gentle soul and it shows in everything she does. She's gentle on a leash, gentle taking treats, gentle when she jumps up on you...and she WILL jump up on you. As soon as she meets you. She'll do the "run and jump" like it's Dirty Dancing. Your entire life will turn into a romcom if you adopt this dog. She'll want to be with you or on top of you or leaning against you at all times. Physical touch is definitely her love language.(Is food a love language? Because food is also her love language.)She has most likely had multiple litters throughout her life so we're looking for a family that will spoil her absolutely rotten the way she deserves. She did previously live with other dogs and presumably did well with them and, while we haven't officially tested her with other dogs here yet, we haven't seen any red flags. We aren't sure that she even knows what a cat is because one of our spicier cats (yes, Eclair...) hissed at her, she didn't even blink. We don't know if she's ever been around children so we would prefer kids 12+ but exceptions may be made for the right family. Story
Fallon came to us after retiring from hunting. He loves other dogs, and we were told he is good with children. He is a shy pup, but much more confident outside. He is not completely housebroken because he has never lived in a home, but his foster family is taking him outside often, and he has had only a few accidents. His life has changed so much from being an outdoor dog kept in a small enclosure to now lounging on the couch, enjoying pup cups, playing with his Chihuahua foster sister, and even being featured on Fox25's FureverFriday spotlight. Podengos are known for being intelligent, playful, and loyal dogs, but can have an independent streak. Fallon was neutered and updated on his vaccines on January 15th, and is ready for adoption. The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

Story
Cow is 7 years old, neutered and vaccinated. He is a loyal, affectionate dog who bonds closely with his person. He does best in a calm, adult-only home with no children and no large dogs. He may be okay with other small dogs after slow, proper introductions. He has a sensitive stomach and requires very gradual diet changes, as sudden switches can cause GI upset. On walks, his leash manners are a work in progress and he would benefit from consistent, positive-reinforcement training. Looking for a patient, experienced owner who understands small-breed dogs and can provide a stable home. Urgent rehoming due to sudden life changes. Adopter must complete application and agree to follow-up via text in 6 months.
