Story
Sandy has a unique look - unless you count her nearly identical sisters! These distinctive girls have ears the better to hear you with and tails that act like rudders when they run - and they are built to run, athletic and active. Intelligent and sensitive, the girls are overwhelmed at the confusing shelter and need time to understand new situations. Having been abandoned and on their own, they are just cautious like that. Sandy in particular has a big 'stranger danger bark,' but don't let that deter you. She is just asking you to slow your roll and take this friendship-building at her pace. Yummy smelly treats are on her 'yes' list! She is very loyal to her friends and looks to her people for support. She learns quick, knows sit and has good crate and leash manners. She has struggled to make new dog friends at the shelter, mainly because of the environment - she has been fine in less stressful situations. Story
Yeah yeah, he shares a name with that famous book dog. But unlike him, our Marley is past the puppy nonsense and already has his basic manners and play skills down pat (well...keeping it real...he can't catch worth anything!). But just like that other Marley, our boy is looking for that home that will stay true, through thick or thin, for better or worse.  Est DOB: May 2014  * Est weight: 60# * Breed unknown - guess based on looksMarch 7, 2026, 12:01 pm

Story
Meet Oliver – The Gentle Giant with a Big Heart  Oliver is a handsome 10-year-old Great Dane/Pointer mix who weighs about 75 lbs. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart! Oliver gets along wonderfully with dogs and kids of all ages, though he’s not a fan of cats. He’s currently polishing his skills — working on sit, stay, kennel, and no jumping, along with crate training and housebreaking. This smart, eager-to-please boy just wants to make his humans proud! Oliver’s story began when he and his 10 siblings were found in a box by a mailbox at only 10 days old. Most of his littermates found homes right away, but somehow Oliver was overlooked — and he’s been patiently waiting ever since for the family that’s meant to be his. Oliver has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and is heartworm negative. Adoption Fee: $250 If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s full of life and affection, Oliver is ready to fill your home with joy — he’s waited long enough for his happily ever after! June 20, 2026, 10:20 pm

Story
Breed: Pointer/Jack Russel Mix (our best guess!) Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth:  4/9/2024 Size: 31 pounds Location: Wedowee, AL RESCUING BINGO... Bingo was part of an oops litter of 9 puppies who belonged to a local family.  The mom was a Jack Russel mix and the dad is unknown.  Two of the puppies sadly didn't survive.  We were contacted to help with the remaining 7 puppies and we took them in on June 20, 2024. We also had the momma dog spayed.  When we got these babies they were in rough shape - loaded with worms, fleas and ticks but we knew they needed to be saved and we are so happy we could help!  The pups in this litter are Bingo, Peaches, Zeke, Willy, June, Penelope (Adopted!) and Summer (Adopted!). ABOUT BINGO... Bingo is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs.  He is a super sweet puppy but he is shy and a follower so would do best with a patient family that has another dog who is confident and could show him the ropes.  He is a big snuggler and once he is comfortable and feels safe with his family he will show you non-stop love.  He is very playful, loves toys and bones. He does well with his crating routine and is fine in his crate but occasionally will still have an accident once or twice a week.  He would do well with kids and would make a great addition to a family.  Bingo walks well on a leash and currently has a fenced in yard.  He would do best with a yard to run and play in or with an active family that can get him out to burn off some energy.  Bingo also loves to play in the kiddie pool and would do great as a boating companion or a family that hikes near creeks or has a pool. ADOPTING BINGO... Bingo is neutered, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.  His adoption fee is $200.00.  If you are interested in learning more about Bingo and potentially adopting him please complete an adoption application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/general-4.  If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com.  FOSTERING BINGO... Bingo would love to get the opportunity to live with a family that can foster him until his forever family is found.  If you are interested in fostering Bingo please complete a Foster Application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/ways-to-help. If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com. May 11, 2026, 12:20 am
