Story
A SWEET PEOPLE DOG: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hi, my name is Sylvie!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and boy am I glad they were able to bring me into the Mostly Mutts family!  I definitely needed their loving care, as I am heartworm positive.  I'll be treated for that soon and hope to be with my new family before my treatment starts.  It’s also evident that I have had puppies in the past, but those days are now behind me too, thanks to Mostly Mutts.  I’m ready to start the good life with my new family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and we got along – though I did not initiate play with them.  I seem to prefer the company of people more, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers say I am ‘a very good girl’, and I bet you will agree!  I’m friendly and super sweet, and I really, really love people. I might seem a little shy at first, but once I know you’re kind, I just want to be close and snuggle. I’m calm and gentle, but I’m also a strong girl. I sit very nicely for treats - I try so hard to do everything right. The shelter bath was scary for me, especially the sprayer, but I did my best. The shampoo and scrub seemed a lot like cuddling, so that was fine. The rinsing part with the spray was harder, and I felt really brave to get through it. Afterward, I gave kisses because I love people. Though I’m nervous sometimes, I’m also full of love and ready to make you smile! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ command.  I look forward to learning more! Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so please keep me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.         • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m not super interested in toys yet, but I sure do love people, so I bet you can show me how much fun toys can be.  Treats are great, and I do a wonderful ‘sit’ for those.  A fun-loving and social girl, I’m sure we will find lots of fun things to do as we make great memories together as a family! / I may need extra time to adjust to new situations, and – other than those pesky baths, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. •  MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in April and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts! I am looking for a loving home with a great furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 27, 2026, 12:29 pm

Story
Candy has a unique look - unless you count her nearly identical sisters! These distinctive girls have ears the better to hear you with and tails that act like rudders when they run - and they are built to run, athletic and active. Intelligent and sensitive, the girls are overwhelmed at the confusing shelter and need time to understand new situations. Having been abandoned and on their own, they are just cautious like that. Candy is a bit more of a free thinker than her sisters. She knows what she wants, and while mostly she wants treats, she also wants some independence. She is the last one to learn 'sit' (didn't wanna!), but does walk nicely on leash and crates up when asked. She is more ready to explore and do her thing. Still, she wants to enter into a fair relationship with new people who are respectful and looking for a partner, not a baby. She has struggled to make new dog friends at the shelter, mainly because of the environment - she has been fine in less stressful situations. Intelligent and sensitive, the girls are overwhelmed at the confusing shelter and need time to understand new situations. Having been abandoned and on their own, they are just cautious like that. Sandy in particular has a big 'stranger danger bark,' but don't let that deter you. She is just asking you to slow your roll and take this friendship-building at her pace. Yummy smelly treats are on her 'yes' list! She is very loyal to her friends and looks to her people for support. She learns quick, knows sit and has good crate and leash manners. Story
Meet Jessica! Jessica is a beautiful, sweet-tempered girl who thrives in open spaces and sunshine. While small, enclosed areas can make her anxious, she’s a calm and loyal shadow in wide-open spaces—happily following her person around without ever getting in the way. She’s perfectly content sharing her yard with other dogs, especially if she gets time to do her all-important sniff patrol. Jessica isn’t much of a snuggler, but she absolutely loves chin and neck scratches—and she’ll happily lean in for more! This water-loving girl believes no puddle, pool, or muddy spot should go unplayed in. She walks wonderfully on leash and knows sit, come, and no—especially if you’ve got a treat or kind word in hand. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, independent sweetheart who’s happiest outdoors and loyal to her person, Jessica could be your perfect match.
