Story
Layka is a delightful young female mixed breed  born August 27, 2021, weighing 50 pounds.  Layka a zest for life and an infectious enthusiasm that will brighten any home. Born with a naturally happy and outgoing personality, Layka thrives on adventure and loves the thrill of exploring new places. Her playful spirit and love for cuddles make her an ideal companion for families who enjoy an active lifestyle and plenty of affection. Layka is best suited for a household where she can be the only dog, allowing her to soak up all the love and attention she deserves. While she is naturally joyful and affectionate, Layka will benefit from socialization and training to help her adjust to her new environment and become the best version of herself. Our In-Home Experience with the Lovely Layka Layka is a delightful and silly girl who will undoubtedly capture your heart, one laugh at a time. From the moment she arrived at our home, her curiosity was evident—she sniffed every inch of the place and quickly decided that the couch was her favorite spot. A Day in the Life of Layka Layka's daily routine is a charming mix of relaxation and playful energy. About 75% of her day is spent as a content couch potato, while the remaining 25% is dedicated to her puppy zoomies, where she eagerly wants to play. Her play mode often involves heading to the backyard for a game of "fetch" with her Kong ball. Fetch deserves quotation marks because, more often than not, Layka ends up throwing the ball in the air herself and chasing it around like an exuberant baby kangaroo. She sprints full speed from one end of the yard to the other, taking frequent pit stops at the kitchen water dish for huge, refreshing slurps. It's essential to have a nice big bowl because Layka loves her water! After about 10-15 minutes of this energetic play, she sprints back inside, bringing her ball to the couch as a signal that she's all tuckered out. A Perfect Work-From-Home Companion I work from home, and Layka has proven to be a wonderful coworker. She spends her time in the living room, keeping an eye on passersby from the window. Every half hour or so, she trots into my office for a brief session of belly rubs and kisses before returning to her relaxing routine. Having Layka around has made my workdays much more enjoyable. Settling In and House Training Layka is house-trained, although she did have a couple of accidents during her first week with us, which we attributed to being in a new environment. She quickly learned to stand by the back door and gaze at us when she wanted to be let outside. Occasionally, she just wanted to enjoy the sunshine. When ready to come back in, she would sit politely at the door and give a short little bark to let us know. Overall, Layka has brought endless joy and laughter into our home. Her playful antics and loving demeanor have made her a beloved member of our household. By welcoming Layka into your home, you're inviting a happy and playful companion into your life. Her adventurous spirit and affectionate nature are sure to fill your days with joy and warmth. If you're ready for a lively and loving furry friend, Layka might just be the perfect match for your family! If interested please go to our website and fill out an application. Story
💜 YOU NEED THIS BOY. 💜 Some dogs are looking for a home. Reggie is looking for a person. At just 2 years old, this handsome French Bulldog has already learned that the world can be uncertain. Because of that, he doesn't always realize how wonderful he truly is. What Reggie needs most isn't training, toys, or treats. He needs someone to show him that he's finally safe. The moment you earn Reggie's trust, you'll discover a dog whose greatest joy is simply being with his people. He'll gently nuzzle your hand when he needs reassurance, curl up beside you for quiet moments, and look at you with the kind of gratitude that can melt even the toughest heart. He's got a playful side too. When the wiggles hit, he'll use his paws and mouth gently to wrestle and play. Then he's right back to being your loyal shadow, soaking up affection and giving it right back. Reggie is wonderful with respectful children ages 5+ and does well with respectful small dogs. He may also do well with larger dogs given patience and proper introductions. Because of experiences in his past, he can still become fearful when hands reach over his head, sometimes flattening himself to the ground. It breaks your heart to see—and makes you want to spend every day proving to him that love doesn't have to hurt. Like many dogs who have experienced instability, Reggie struggles with being left alone and currently does not tolerate a crate. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and where patience, routine, and understanding are plentiful. The truth is, Reggie doesn't need a perfect family. He needs a compassionate one. A family who understands that healing takes time. A family who sees past anxiety and into the incredible dog underneath. A family who will celebrate every little victory. Because once Reggie knows he's home, you'll gain something truly special: A best friend who will love you with his whole heart. ✨ 2 years old ✨ Neutered male ✨ Healthy ✨ Great with respectful kids 5+ ✨ Good with respectful small dogs ✨ Full of love, loyalty, and potential 🎉 SPECIAL ADOPTION INCENTIVE 🎉 Reggie's adoption fee has been reduced thanks to a generous donor and our Special Needs Concession Program. Regular fee: $1,000 Special needs concession: -$350 Donor sponsorship: -$200 💜 Final adoption fee: just $450 💜 If you've been waiting for a sign that your next best friend is out there, this is it. Reggie is waiting.

Story
Sometimes it is the shy ones that call you the most.  That is why I call her ShyAnn.  Her back story is she was raised with love by a women who owned her mom and dad.  As expected - they had a litter of 6 puppies.  Ann is one of the 6 puppies (but now 17 months old).  The woman who raised them, got them medical care (all are spayed or neutered now)  and loved on them but they had never met another person or dogs.   Ann came to her foster family extremely unsure of what was happening.  She wouldn't eat or move for 3 days.  She slowly started coming out of her shell and is now mingling well in the household. Ann is people friendly but timid.  She lives to be included but stands on the periphery.  Her foster had lots of guests last week and she did well.  Once she is in her safe spot (couch or bed) she enjoys being pet.  She just takes a little time.  Initially with the dogs in her foster house she was growly and showed her teeth.  She never tried to bite.  It is all fear based.  She now sleeps in bed with her human and multiple dogs.   She enjoys her dog buddies now and continues to meet new ones as other foster dogs come and go.  She is crate trained.  She is potty trained.  She walks decently on a leash.  She looks at you with the darkest beautiful eyes.  She is going to be the most loyal companion when she finds a home that is meant for her.  She has never been around children and should not go to a home with children younger than 16.  I believe she would like a quiet home but doesn't seem to mind the TV, dogs barking, chaos of her current foster home.   If you are looking for a sweet and easy companion dog that will love you forever, Ann is your girl. She will take some time to adjust to new circumstances but is very lovable. Ann is fostered in Colorado Springs.   ##2681340##

Story
Penny, German Shorthaired Pointer/Heeler, 4yrs. 50lbs. Penny is a sweetheart with a gentle, loving personality and lots of energy. She absolutely loves being around people and will happily stay by your side all day. Once she’s had plenty of exercise and playtime, she’s the best cuddle buddy for a relaxing evening at home. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves to play. We’ve boarded her at doggy daycare many times while traveling and have never had any issues. Penny loves chasing balls, long walks, exploring the woods, chew toys, chicken treats, carrots, watermelon, and even watching old westerns with her family. There’s not much she doesn’t enjoy besides bath time and being left alone for long periods. She truly is an incredible companion and rehoming her is heartbreaking for us. We simply want her to have the time, attention, and freedom she deserves to live her happiest life. Courtesy listing. Call Cindy 970-353-1385

Story
Charlie, Lab/German Shorthaired Pointer, 2 yrs. 65 lbs. Charlie is a great dog that has found himself homeless. His owner is going to memory care and no one in the family will take him. He is good on a leash and on car rides. He seems to be good with other dogs so we are looking for a home with someone home most of the time or that has another dog for him to hang out with. Charlie is loyal and comes in queue. Courtesy listing. Call Cindy 970-353-1385
