Story
LOOK AT ME NOW!... My name is Pearl, and I am now a pretty 7-month-old, 24-lb English Pointer/Lab mix pup, but just a month ago I looked like a wreck and was set to be euthanised at a Port Lavaca animal shelter in South Texas. I had demodex mange leaving my skin dry, crusty, bloody, and itchy, mostly on my face and legs, and I was scared and miserable. Then, out of the blue, 4 Little Paws Rescue saved me along with 27 other dogs and puppies and sent us all to foster homes in and around San Antonio. It turned out that just a pill and some medicated baths fixed everything for me, and now I am healthy, happy, and playful, with an amazing future waiting for me! So far, my fur has mostly filled in, I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, up to date on preventatives, have veterinary records, and I'm ready to be adopted! My foster mom wants you to know that I have a beautiful personality. Sweet and kind, I make friends easily with everyone I meet- grown-ups, kids, dogs, but kitty cats make me nervous. I love to play, and I am very affectionate, happily sharing kisses, and when I see my foster mom grab a pillow, I am the first one on the couch to snuggle beside her! I love dog toys and doggy treats, but broccoli isn't my favorite. I am good on a leash, and I enjoy a ride in the car. I am housebroken, know how to use a doggy door, and I don't guard my food or toys. I know I will be a wonderful addition to any home and find my way into any heart! Inquire about me today. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.8/4/26 Freckles and Confetti are a special pair of bonded sisters who are looking for a home where they can stay together. They are such sweet babies. I do not know their breed, but my guess would be bird dog mix. I rescued them out of the woods when I was driving by and saw them run into a drainage culvert. I stopped and they ran into the woods. These girls heavily rely on eachother and I would hate to seperate them. They want so badly to be loved, but until they were rescued, the only love they had known was from eachother. They wag their tails and belly crawl to me, but they are still a bit timid. You can tell they have experienced a lot of neglect and possibly abuse in their lives. But they love to be held and loved on. They are just very insecure. Freckles and Confetti are crate trained and they are very well behaved when crated. No accidents and no crying. They feel safe in their crate and don't mind it at all. They are about 4 months old and each weigh between 20-25 lbs, with Freckles being slightly larger. They will probably be in the 50-60 lbs range once grown. They are not high energy puppies. They play with each other some but mostly they cuddle and have a lower energy level for young puppies. They are precious little souls that need a patient and understanding family who will show them that there are kind people in the world. Despite their fears and insecurities, they have never growled or acted aggressively in any way, they want so desperately to be loved on. They have made great progress here and they will continue to gain confidence once in a loving home. Please consider adopting this little pair. We will happily reduce fees to help with the cost of adopting the 2 of them together. They are spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.Located in Arkansas and can be adopted locally, or can transport to the New England area if adopted there. If adopted in New England, adopter will need to pick up (or arrange for a trusted friend/family to pick him up) on a Saturday in MD, PA, NJ, or CT. Residents of other states may adopt as well, as long as they can meet our transporter along their route. For questions or more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com.To apply to adopt, click here:https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Looking for a sweet treat to brighten your life? Look no further, because Cookie is the multi layered, chocolate and vanilla swirl pup of your dreams! At 8 months old, this gorgeous black and white short haired Pointer mix is looking for her forever home, and she is guaranteed to be 100 percent guilt free. Cookie currently weighs 43 pounds and is expected to be a medium-size dog once fully grown, weighing anywhere up to 60 pounds. Like most Pointer mixes her age, Cookie has a healthy appetite for play! She is at that peak, joyful puppy stage where everything is an exciting adventure. Cookie loves the company of other dogs and children. Whether it is a game of backyard tag or a family movie night, she just wants to be part of the pack. Cookie has not had the opportunity to be introduced to cats, so it is unknown how she will be with them.Raising an 8-month-old pup means embracing lots of energy, daily exercise, and plenty of mental stimulation to keep her sharp mind busy. Cookie is the perfect match for an active individual or family ready to share in her zest for life. Cookie is also a work in progress, which makes her journey even sweeter. Her leash manners, crate routine, and house training are all currently in the baking phase. Cookie is smart, eager to please, and just needs a patient adopter to help her master the basics with consistent, positive reinforcement. If you are ready for a lifetime of love and adventure, Cookie is ready to crumble right into your heart. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Cookie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.August 11, 2026, 7:49 am
